A Sandwich filled with respect for our planet, on KLM

Most of the pan Euro flight serve sandwiches.  This time I find this one the best as compared to other major airlines BA/AF/LH/AI.  I enjoy reading their writing on the packing too.

Departure from Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

On the day of departure, I find Schiphol Airport relatively pretty efficient from check-in, security, immigration and boarding, though on the day of arrival there was a minor issue that the passengers got trapped on the gate bridge.

Costadoro Caffe, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Passed by this cafe and noticed there are a lot of bread and pastry inside.  I then tried their salmon sandwich with a hot chocolate.  The bread is awesome and so I ordered another walnut bread to go with their house made fig preserve.  Super delicious.  The chocolate drink is a bit too milky though I thought hot chocolate should be a good try in Holland.

A traditional Dutch dinner at DeVergulde Lantaarn, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Noticed from the menu outside the restaurant that there is a traditional Dutch dinner plate (photo 4).  Of course, I'd love to give it a try.  This dish seems to me a bit German to me as it has beef stew in onion, mash potato and red cabbage.  All these taste pretty good but the combination isn't too good with me for my stomach.  Later on it took effect and I had quite a hard time sleeping well.  The other main dish is not bad and not so heavily seasoned.  The pork in the Netherland taste really good.

Breakfast at Park Plaza Victoria, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

I really like a the bread, ham, veggie and fresh fruits in Amsterdam.  This cafe has some very good quality of food, from fresh fruit juice, wide range of cold cut, and hot food plus a very nice coffee.  I noticed in many restaurants, pancake seems to be a very popular food.  Out of curiosity, I tried some pancake at this breakfast.  Turned out they use some good quality buttermilk flour - taste very rich and a spongy texture.  So I will give Park Plaza another remark as my preferred choice on my future visit.

The swimming pool, Park Plaza Victoria, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Another plus for me to choose this hotel is their indoor swimming pool (almost a few hotels in Amsterdam has an indoor pool).  Though it's not a big one, it's good enough to stretch yourself after much walking.  The 2nd floor is the gym; so it's nice to have a pool view while working out.
