I thought the lounge service and food quality may not be kept in high standard as the airline hasn't been in its full operation. Much surprised they did a very good job.

The last time we could still see the reclamation of the third runway. This time we took off the completed third runway.

Leaving HKG and returning, in my shadow.
I left this city a few days ago. That was the first time ever I felt very nervous if I could make it to the airport, as the rioters were trying to block the road. The airport bus changed the route and all the way I was checking around and seeing if those rioters were showing up, because the other day I was on another bus getting stopped by those rioters. This is the hidden phobia of not only me, but also a large crowd of people living in this city. Now that as I am about to return to this city, I am worried if I can pass through those crowds claiming as to greet the tourists. This kind of hooliganism is now considered as a norm in this city.

Royal Orchid Lounge, HK Airport
Thai Airways takes a very nice location for its Royal Orchid Lounge on the south pier (near gate 40) of HK Airport. You can have a 270 degree view to the south pier gates on both sides. The seating area is quite spacious but the seat wasn't too comfortable. The armrests were too high and the seat's width wasn't adequate. The food quality was at average but the famous Thai boat noodle was served.

In between gates 40 and 60, HK Int'l Airport
Seldom have I had this view from above. That's the escalators linking to the CX lounge The Bridge on the in between the 2 piers of gates 40 and 60. The 2nd photo shows where the HK's famous eateries like Tai Hing, Yung Kee...etc.

CX first class lounge, The Wing, HK Airport
There are now 4 business class lounges and 2 first class lounges in the HK Airport. Among all, this first class lounge at the Pier (gate 63) is the best in terms of food quality and services. Second is the Cabin business class (in between gate 40 and 60). The third is the Bridge business class lounge at the Pier (gate 65), and then the Cabin (gate 23) and so the last 2 are the business class lounge at the Wing and the first class lounge.

Renovated the Pier, Cathay Pacific business class lounge, HK Int'l Airport
This lounge could probably be the last one of CX to renovate all their 4 lounges in HK Aiport. It continues the same contemporary design of their Haneda Airport lounge. Personally I don't like this lounge much since it's not in a higher ceiling as compared to the other lounges.

Midfield terminal for gates 201-230, HK Airport
Finally I could try to reach this new terminal. The automated shuttle train takes a further extension to reach this terminal for gates 201-230. Also for the first time I waited in the train after it reached the wing terminal. This new terminal has more green (vertical gardens).

HK Airlines lounge, HK Int'l Airport
HK Airlines' lounge is situated near gate 25 (between CX's the Cabin and CA's lounge). The lounge claimed to serve more local delicates, from dim sum, stir fried noodle, congee to mini-egg (but I didn't get a chance to try as it's only offered after breakfast time). The good is yet to improve in terms of quality and portion (some run out but no refill). If they claimed to go for local, hope that Tsui Wah can help them for the food catering.
