Kwai Chung, NT, HK

Kwai Chung acted like a turbine for the HK manufacturing industry from the 60's to 80's.  It continues to be the supporting area for the transportation and logistic business since then.

靜岡浜松 (Fifth Element) Japanese restaurant, TST, HK

There are quite some nice restaurants on the dining floors of The One mall in Tsimshatsui.  Tried a grilled chicken don and a pizza.  These remind me of some comfort food I tried in Niseko (Hokkaido).  Aromatic grilled chicken on steamy hot rice.  Such a scene of the snowy Hokkaido though it's a summer season here.  The pizza was very nice too.

宋王臺站 (Sung Wong Toi station), Kowloon, HK

A hot topic about the launch of the longest subway route from Tuen Mun to Ma On Shan - some kids were so excited with the first train running and sang an improvised song with Greensleeves melody.  They innocent passion made me come here for feeling this new subway line.  Besides, it's nice to learn about this historical place.

Skye, French restaurant, Hotel Park Lane by Pullman, Causeway Bay, HK

This French restaurant served a 3 course lunch set at around HK$400.  I chose a Nicoise salad, beef filet and a fruit salad with sorbet.  I couldn't say the salad is a salad.  As seen, there were 2 tiny veggie on 4 tiny tuna slices with capers and sauce.  The main course was also very small.  The dessert wasn't too big as I had a very close up to take the photo.   All the dishes weren't bad though.  My business friends told me this is a fine dining and Michelin graded....etc.  Once again, I told them my dining experiences over the years in various places in Southern France and Paris, from local to high end restaurants that I really don't consider fine dining means "tiny".  This kind of so-called fine dining is just a HK-style fine dining.

An auto hot water boiling and cleaning station, by Dao Heung restaurant, TST, HK

The pandemic has made a number of things adpated to our daily life, especially those hygienic measures.  This one is a very thoughtful design and installed beside each table.  On the left, there is an auto hote water filler.  If the pot is detected light enough, the filler station would turn to the pot's top drainer and fill the hot water.  The pot would also be heated to 100 degree boiling point.  On the right you can use the hot water to rinse your dining utensil.

Saburo (三郎) Japanese Yakiniku, H Center, Tsimshatsui, HK

There are a few Japanese restaurants next to the Japanese grocery store Guu San (谷辰) in H Center TST.  Tried this one for a slow cooked pork chop.  I was advised that I had to wait for 20 minutes.  Probably it's "slow" cooked.  A bit disappointed as it's too dried out somehow.  The chef just paid attention to the slow cook but forgot massaging the pork chop that made the pork too tangy and dried.  The steam egg made it up a bit though.

Mini Bangkok Thai Food Station, Causeway Bay, HK

Found some good somtam from this shop.  We also had stir fried seafood rice noodle, beef boat noodle with complimentary tom yam soup and longan juice.  The set was just in the range from HK$68-88 and it's quite a large portion.  Fresh seafood and the tom yam soup was quite impressive.
