River Cafe, Peninsula Bangkok

It's been 8 years I haven't been to this hotel after the most horrible experiences.  Supposed I should have deleted this hotel for good.  However, I heard from a friend about having a 50% discount of the buffet (about THB1,300 net per person after this discount) of the main restaurant.  As when I stepped in the restaurant, it was about 5-10% occupancy.  The below photos also told how quiet of this place.  The raw oyster was very tiny and some of them not so fresh.  So I just picked 2.  The sashimi was good though.  The hot food was a bit too dried out or mashy because the customers flow didn't make it in a fresh rotation.  The grill wasn't too nice and the chef was quite careless from not cooking the seafood properly.  The squid was quite watery inside.  The ice cream reminded me of TWG.  It could stay unmelted for an hour.  The fruit selection was quite limited with only papapa, water melon and dragon fruit.  The cake was good.  So if you come here for a dinner buffet, better just take the sashimi, salad and cake.

Supalai Loft Talat Phlu, Bangkok

Sometimes it's nice to check out some areas for keeping ourselves updated and also getting to know more by ourselves instead of just browsing the forums' comments.  Finally I visited this area on the other side of Chaophyra River in the S.W. Bangkok.  This condo. is within 8 minute walking distance to BTS Talat Phlu, and 3 minutes to the nearby The Mall Talat Phlu, but this mall is only good for your grocery shopping.  However, Icon Siam is about 2km to the north east.  The new BRT extension will be linked to this area. 

This condo is in the range of about THB2.6million for a studio (30 sq. m.) and 3.4 million for a one bedroom suite (42 sq. m.).

This mall wasn't too well prepared in the first few days of opening.  However, those problems weren't too nice for this iconic mall.  It's still very dusty in most of the entrance areas.  Another interesting thing is that they have a 7-11 right at the entrance.   When you took a long time to come to this mall, wouldn't you feel a bit ironic to first see a 7-11 when you get off the car.

Yodpiman River Walk, BKK Thailand

This day we went upstream in the river.  It takes about 15 minute boat ride from Sathorn pier to reach this newly renovated riverside walk arcade called Yodpiman River Walk.  There are some standard and famous restaurants for a good view to the river.
