Afternoon tea set, Raffles Beijing

There are some goodies when booking CX holidays for trips to China, such as room upgrade, complimentary tea set and guaranteed checkout.  So I'd still book CX holidays for trips to China.  This time I tried this historical building hotel (part of Beijing hotel complex and used to be called Grand Hotel) as being managed by Raffles.  The tea set is pretty good from sandwiches, scones to the mini cakes.  Also the table ware is quite classy.  

小月度麵 - 度小月台南擔仔麵，北京王府井新東安廣場

清末年間，民生不好過，大地東南之濟， 有一大島，每遇七至九月颱風天，島上漁民出海作業的日子少了，故稱七至九月為小月。 為謀生計，中南部一姓洪漁民，提著擔挑賣麵，小碗麵上有鮮蝦一隻，肉燥加小蔥，鮮香撲鼻 －就為世人所知的擔仔麵。 日子雖難過，但總也想法子去過。洪老先生，你這小碗麵，度過那些小月，却教人好好面對生活任何難關，寓意深遠。今天小月度麵，回歸大地，好讓十三億小口，一嘗百年前洪老先生這碗擔仔麵。

除了擔仔麵，還有鳳梨苦瓜排骨湯，鹽酥骨，南瓜泡菜，小紅茄，全都不負小月其名。

dinner at Karma Kamet, BKK

It's the first time I visited here in night time.  Quite much different - the ambience, the menu and the price (almost double of the lunch).  Interesting the menu didn't have soup when it seems to be a fine dining restaurant.  Their appetizers were somewhat better than the mains. 

Kuppa Deli, Emporium, BKK

This deli has been in the newly renovated Emporium for quite some time.  Came here for their cheese cake and their renewed iced mocha.  This one, MO Deli & Paul are the top 3 for iced mocha in BKK!

White Flower, Siam Square One, BKK

Passed by this shop several times and noticed it's quite crowded.  Most of the guests were taking some cakes.  So we tried the deep fried split chicken wings, fish patty, shrimp salad, tom yam soup, sweet and sour pork.  Not bad.  I'd like the fish patty, chicken wings pretty much.  Their signature coconut sorbet is somehow disappointing - not that aromatic.  

Roast, Emquartier, BKK

Because of the last trying of their dessert and coffee, we then came back for lunch.  Got a bean salad, pulled pork burger, seafood pasta and a waffle.  This time it wasn't that impressive.  The coffee is a bit too thin and bitter dry.  The burger is a bit too soft.  The better one is the seafood pasta but it's quite pricey at THB690.  Their home made ice cream isn't too outstanding either.  In terms of price and the food quality, I'd put this one on a lower priority in Emquartier.
