The swimming pool, East Hotel, HK

The pool looks very unique surrounded by high rise mansions, or literally called urban view.  During the Autumn and Winter time, the pool could be too cool to swim, at around 22-23 degree though its claimed to be a heated pool.

Corner Deluxe Harbour View room, East Hotel, HK

This hotel has been named as one of top 10 city hotel with superb view to the east Harbour.  The corner room is also the hot pick.  Panoramic view with buildings surrounding you.

Public, Island East, Tai Koo Place, HK

This self-serviced cafeteria is on the 37/F of Island East, serving salad, sandwich, Asian fusion food and coffee.  If you prefer a cozy meal, there is also a full service restaurant.  I chose a bibimbap and a mocha.  The bibimbap wasn't too appealing but good to have lots of veggie.  The view and coffee made up for the meal.

Feast, Hotel East, HK

The buffet of this restaurant has been quite consistent over the years.  The appetizer/salad and dessert bars were really tempting for its quality food and choices.  The mains pan fried fish filet and turkey rolls were quite nice too. I'm quite surprised with their cookie and ice cream.  Haven't tried many dishes and got so full in the recent years.

A late lunch at 京林屋 (Kyohayashiya), Tai Koo Shing, HK

This place is a favourite for those green tea lovers.  This time I tried their lunch set (HK$95) with a soup, pickle, rice (cooked in tea) and a platter of scallop, fish, pancake..etc.  All good but I could try it once in a while since I couldn't take too much tea.

The legacy, Quarry Bay, HK

This Zung Fu factory building used to be iconic landmark of Quarry Bay and a popular stop for mini-bus.  When Tai Koo Place is mordernizing this vicinity, this big building will soon be gone.  Noticed almost all the tenants have left.

Sugar, East Hotel, HK

This place has changed pretty much from the first time I came here.  It wasn't that much of decoration, but it is still nice coming here for a drink to have a breath-taking view to the Eastern harbour.  This place is named after the origin of Swire group in sugar business.

Yataiya Japanese restaurant 屋台屋, Tai Koo Shing, HK

When this restaurant moved to Tai Koo Shing from Craig Rd of Quarry Bay, I hadn't tried it somehow.  After this visit, I won't go back for another long period of time.  The food wasn;t bad but the shop charged for a mandatory appetizer and tea (the tea was just self-service from a hot kettle on the table), with an extra of HK$34 for 2 (the first time I ran into this with a Japanese restaurant), and yet there was a 10% service charge on the bill total.

Hokkai Don, Tai Koo Shing, HK

It's been 1.5 years I haven't tried sashimi.  Perhaps this could be just once for this year as it's still not too safe to eat raw food.  This shop is pretty much close to those I tried in Hokkaido.  Such a fond memory.

正斗粥麵專家, (Tasty congee/noodle shop), Taikooshing, HK

Tried their congee with salty pork.  The congee base was in a chicken stock; so with the salty pork, the congee tasted a bit too heavily savoury.  The shop also served quite a wide range of dim sum and stir fried dishes.  It seems to be a full scale restaurant.  Tried their vercemilli in soup and I prefer this one to their congee.  Service was pretty good.
