La casa di nonna, Cannes, Southern France

There are a plenty of nice Italian restaurants in Cannes and Nice due to its location to the border with Italy.   Supposed I was to search Pause Cafe that I like it pretty much, but it was closed and seemed like this one replaced it.  I noticed there are quite many local people having lunch here.  We ordered a freshly made pasta with bacon, tomato, mozzarela cheese  and soft boiled egg.  When the dish was served, the strong aroma of freshly made pasta was so appetizing.  The 2nd dish chicken quinoa salad was not bad either though there was an interesting piece of water melon.

Cote Jardin, Cannes, Southern France

Visited this place 3 years ago and so impressed that I put it on my return list.  As when I went in, I felt something different, it doesn't feel like a garden with this deco.  It was in some wooden furniture and a cozy setting.  Also the place was very quiet.  The menu was also quite different with only a few items to choose. When the dishes were served, I left the place promptly for another one.  Seldom have I done this, but I couldn't bear with the luke warm food but the plate was amazingly burning hot.

Astoux & Brun, Cannes, Southern France

At first I was disappointed for a few seconds to see the restaurant was closed and looked like there's a renovation, but relieved got escorted by their staff to their new place - only 50 feet from the old shop.
Also glad to see all those old waiters/waitresses still there in the new shop.  The menu is the same and the price too.  This time we had half dozen oyster from a farm in the north west of France (the most expensive one at Euros 24 for 6) (on the left of the last photo) and half from local (Euros 12 for 6).  Turns out I prefer the local ones as it's sweeter though the more expensive ones are a bit bouncy and more salty.  Not to be missed is their fish soup.  This time we had a very nice scallop risotto (Euros22) and a side ratatouille (Euros 6).  The scallops are very big and fresh.  Well worth it.  The prices are net (covering the service/tax).  This meal can cost over Euros 200 if we have the same quality level, but this time the bill is 90.

Cannes in June, Southern France

This town has become very lively in the summer time.  The film festival, as held in every May, marks the arrival of summer with this town.  Tourists, shops and traffic are all there.  The tranquil and silent Cannes I have had in mind was such a stranger to me.

Cote Jardin (Coast Garden), Cannes, Southern France

As when my friend used his app to search a nearby restaurant (on the main road of Blvd. Carnot), there we checked this place.  It's quite in the back lanes of the residential area that I wouldn't walk around this area over the past.
The restaurant offers a 3 course menu with a few choices for starters, main course and dessert.  We chose a foie gras pate, sun dried tomato pudding and strawberry gazpacho as starters, a roasted lamb and roasted cod for the mains, a raspberry tart and choco mousse as dessert.  All the starters and mains are very impressive but a little flaw on the choco mousse that it isn't that aromatic but much too sweet.  After all, the deco and ambience are a plus for visiting this restaurant once again in my future trips to Cannes.

To the seafront, Antibes, Southern France

Didn't know much about this town much until this second time visit that I could visit more of this town because the warm weather permits for walking farther to the seafront.  There we found a Picasso Museum (photo 4) (a castle on the cap of Antibes).  As I walked from the castle the seafront and cliff, I realized how this breath-taking scene could be very enlightening and inspiring.
