Supaninga eating room, soi 10 Sathorn, BKK

Knew about this place from the last visit at their sister restaurant E.A.T. in Central World.  The original shop is in Thonglo but I wouldn't go there for a try as Thonglo is much too complicated than the old time that we could just eat and relax.  Now that there are many scanners and night time places in smoking and vibrant ambience.
Happy that they have a branch in Sathorn.  However, after the try, I'd prefer E.A.T. as this one is much too salty (should be as it claimed to be something local family style food)

Chongnonsi to Silom, BKK

Photo 1: on the left, Maha Nakorn showed up almost 3/4th of its growth.  Interesting that this building looks better in its wooden tummy than the real glass building.  Photo 2: the iconic Bangkok Bank on Silom Road.  Photo 3: the upper end of Silom Road.

Hotels of the bugs and cockroaches, Furamaxclusive Sathorn, BKK

Tried this hotel 4-5 years ago, but it wasn't that bad.  This time I had to say "not anymore".  Pros are: big and spacious room with 2 toilets (67 sq. m.) at just US$65 net with breakfast, 5 min. walk to Chongnonsi BTS. Cons are: lots of bugs and cockroaches found, poor sound proof, indifferent staff services - actually no service.  Ended up my friend got serious bug bites.  I didn't have a thorough smooth sleep - woke up every 1 to 2 hours though I didn't mean to detect anything.  BTW, my other friends staying at the opposite side (Trinity hotel - now Glow) saw some fierce spirit jumping over on their beds.  Better stay away this area.  Yet, quite many impolite interesting scanner people here.

Up Rama 3 community mall, BKK

Happy to see this community mall arrive and situated at the intersection of Rama 3 and Narathiwas road.  There are not many shops.  The noticeable ones are EST 33 and Boon Tong Kee.  The color tune reminds me of the China town of Singapore though.

Boon Tong Kee 文東記 Chicken rice shop, the Up Rama 3 community mall, BKK

If I didn't visit the original shop in Singapore, I would wonder how come this one could be so famous in Singapore.  This branch simply destroy the whole image of Boon Tong Kee.  The chicken was too dried out and yet too mashy in texture.  The other dishes failed too - the veggie soaked in thousand year egg and salty duck egg (photo 6) is the worst I have ever tried.  They made a funny sauce in it.  The only better one is the soup of the day, not the best but better than the chicken and the veggie.

Kasara lounge, top floor, Anantara Sathorn, BKK

If you wanna try this hotel, and if you don't need to go to their swimming pool, better try their Kasara floors from 32nd to 36th floors with their rooftop Kasara lounge for a panoramic view to the southern Bangkok city skyline.  The room rate is about 20-30% higher but it's worth it, if you would like to have some tranquil stay.

2 bedroom suite, Anantara Sathorn, BKK

The 2 bedroom suite is very nice and if you stay on their club floor, the view is superb too.  However, the drawback is on their clientele.

Anantara Sathorn, BKK

This Anantara is the first hotel that I didn't feel like taking photos.  Interesting clientele often think they are "watched".

Breakfast at Anantara Sathorn, BKK

On the first day of the breakfast, the occupancy rate of this hotel wasn't so high that I thought I could take some more photos in the next few days.  Turned out the next few days were so packed and even in long line.  The hotel catered quite a number of Southern Chinese and Middle Eastern and Indian tourist groups.  Unfortunately I couldn't fit in their various eating culture, like touching food (either wet or dry) with bare hands.  Anantara shouldn't put their own brand by attracting such diverse tourist groups to ruin their name.  Like Accor, they should have some sub-brands like Ibis to separate from Sofitel, or Starwood having St. Regist apart from Aloft...etc.  So for those who haven't been to Anantara Kihavah (Maldives) or Anantara Mai Khao (Phuket), they would be scared for not trying these 2 high end resorts because of having experienced this Anantara Sathorn.
