French Cafe, Nice, Southern France

Got surprised with the big portion of this meal.  The sandwich is a foot long and you can get whatever you like from the bar.  With a drink and a cake, it's just EUR8.90.  This is even much better than taking a combo meal from McDonald's.  Besides, the waiters there were all very enthusiastic and happy to be of their services.  The deco. is awesome too, even the lavatory is very cozy.  I hope this place can grow like Paul in the future.  See you soon!

Visited this place 3 years ago and so impressed that I put it on my return list.  As when I went in, I felt something different, it doesn't feel like a garden with this deco.  It was in some wooden furniture and a cozy setting.  Also the place was very quiet.  The menu was also quite different with only a few items to choose. When the dishes were served, I left the place promptly for another one.  Seldom have I done this, but I couldn't bear with the luke warm food but the plate was amazingly burning hot.

La Terrasse Panoramique restaurant, Saint Paul de Vence, Southern France

As when I walked into this terrace of this family run restaurant, I took a deep breath watching this nice hill view to the valley of this historical town Saint Paul.  This restaurant isn't just a place for watching the view, but also they offer some very nice Italian lasagne and French crepe.  I got a nice mushroom, ham, egg and cheese crepe.  Very aromatic when it was served.  It's just Euros 11 net.  The lasagne was served with a big portion of salad in slight lemon olive dressing.  Was good to go with the view.  After the meal, I realized the restaurant name as a terrace of panoramic view.  Well deserving!

French grilled chicken, Nice old town

I bought a whole chicken years ago in Cannes and it was about Euros 8-9.  I thought that was a big bargain.  As when I kept on walking, Euros 5 and even 3.90.  Too bad I had a full meal already.  

Cafe de Turin, Nice, Southern France

Passed by this place around 11am and got attracted with its nostalgic deco.  The busy oyster parlour outside of the cafe further got me curious.  The menu is all about oysters.  No salad, no other sides/mains.  Ordered a dozen of 2 different farm oysters.  So fresh and delicious that it will be on my list in my future visits in Nice.

Paul, Nice, Southern France

I have been telling my friends about how good Paul Bangkok is, if they have ever tried Paul France or Paul Taiwan.  Even Paul SG/JP aren't as good as Paul Bangkok.  This time I had a re-visit at this outlet in Nice downtown.  I'd rather try the other boulangerie.

Hyatt Regency Nice, Southern France

The conventional HK travel agent Wing On offered some very special rate for many European hotels, almost 20-30% cheaper than those int'l booking sites like Agoda/Hotels.com...etc.  As a result, I found a special rate of this hotel and why not took it a try.

The hotel room is very spacious, tidy and a Hyatt standard.  The plus is the balcony to the city view.  Location wise, it's right in front of the Nice beach and easy access to the downtown area.
