老媽拌麵, Lao Ma Noodle, North Point, HK
Another expanding chain of Taiwanese noodle. This one is renowned from Tainan for its sun-dried noodle. Tried their beef noodle, stewed bean curd and boiled veggie. The noodle is indeed earned by its name. The bean curd is a bit like the Japanese egg bean curd.

Siam Garden Thai restaurant, North Point, HK
In entering this restaurant, the side kitchen caught my eyes. For those who have been to Thailand often, this setting isn't a stranger. When the Pad Thai was served, the plate and the presentation were also very Thai. The pig's knuckle on rice wasn't quite Thai though it wasn't too bad.

Briketenia, Harbour North, HK
The meal set reminded me of the portion size I tried in France. I am a big puzzled with some claim, especially from HK that portion size of French cuisine is tiny. All the dishes were pretty good, especially with a nice harbour view in North Point.

A two-thumbs up roast chicken, by Alfafa restaurant, North Point, HK
When I told my sister about the roast chicken of this place, she told me that's the best chicken ever she has tried. What a coincidence and perhaps that's our common feeling about cooking. The waiter reminded that it took 30 minutes. I can say it's much worth it even it takes an hour. That's how good about cooking fresh to the order. What's more, I'd like they put generous veggies to absorb the chicken aroma with a fresh rosemary on top. When you cut it, the hot aroma and juicy texture of the chicken meat is still in my mind.

Lunch with the view, at Le 188, Harbour Grand Hotel HK
Came here for a friend's birthday celebration in time before the 3rd virus wave hitting the town. The place was good for a 360 degree of the Harbour and Northern part of HK island. The meal was not impressive as it claimed to be a fine dining. The bread was microwave re-heated. The pork terrine was a bit smelly. The soup was quite salty. The main rib eye shouldn't be with such a heavy gravy on top. The better ones were the dessert choco. ganache. Though I don't like Movenpick, I still hoped to get an ice cream, probably because of the sunny weather outside.

View from above to North Point, HK
Didn't think I could have a view from this angle to the rooftop pool of Harbour Grand Hung Hom hotel.

君綽軒,Kwan Chuek Heen, Harbour Grand HK
With the $800 dining credit, I chose to spend some on a dinner in this Chinese restaurant. Ordered a BBQ pork (the portion was a bit bigger than what's shown on the photo as I took the photo after I got a few bites.), a sweet and sour pork and a steamed veggie. A bit surprised that the sweet and sour pork was cooked in a family style that the pork was pan-fried without the heavy coating. The sauce wasn't too sweet. The BBQ pork was quite nice though a bit too fat to me. The veggie was a bit overcooked. So the meal is half and half.

Staycation stay with Harbour Grand HK
The hotel offers a bargain staycation deal at HK$1090 net with HK$800 dining credit and a late checkout at 6pm, plus a deluxe harbour view room upgrade. That means the room is less than HK$300 and you can have an extended half day stay. The room is a bit rundown but still acceptable. The room is quite comfy and bathroom very spacious with a big jacuzzi bath tub.
