A windy bumpy seaplane ride to Baa Atoll, Maldives

Photo 1/2: it could be the first time that I had a bumpy seaplane ride.  The wind speed went up to 40-50 km/hr due to the tropical cyclone drawing the south west monsoon wind in the west of India.  The pilot took the gaps of the heavy clouds, and did a good job to make it.  It could be a bad luck for those who have motion sickness.  Some passengers vomited in such a tiny cabin.  So we gave them some methol to ease down his sickness and also I advised him to look afar at the horizontal line, not focused on the cabin inside.  I then thought of my grand ma who taught me all these.  I gave her a smile and also for how tough my father asked me to bear with the motion movements at my younger time.  So I got trained to cope with this kind of motion sickness except for slow swaying.  I couldn't get used to big cruise ship slow swaying somehow.
Photo 3: Baros resort in North Male Atoll - will be staying this one as it's a sister resort of Velassaru.  Photo 4:Coco Bodu Hithi in North Male Atoll.  Photo 5: Loama resort in Baa Atoll.  Photo 6: Kudafusi in Baa Atoll - in future travel agenda.  Photo 7: Dhigali in Baa Atoll.  It's interesting to see those resorts I have been to in another aerial view.  I'm glad that I could recognise them - meaning each one is very unique in their shape and style.

A camouflage speaker, Dhigali Maldives

Music is always one of the essential elements in a resort and hotel.  Dhigali is so thoughtful of having this hidden speaker in a stone design that it goes so nice in the pool and sand ambience.

Water Villa, Dhigali Maldives, Raa Atoll

The room itself is indeed very nice, and yet it's very cheap at just HK$2,700 for half board.  However, the villa location isn't good for those who wanna go out for a swim or snorkel.  The water is quite muddy and also rocky.  If the sea is wavy, it's very dangerous.  Ended up we had to go out to the big swimming pool.  The room is then quite a waste.  Suggest taking the beach villa instead.  At least you can go out for a swim.

The Haali bar, Dhigali Maldives, Baa Atoll

This interesting design pool bar is on the sunset side of the resort taking a view to the sand bank.  However, it seems to me it's a bit awkward to the overall design of the resort, primitive vs contemporary.

Early bird diners, at Dhigali resort, Baa atoll, Maldives

It was about 7am we arrived at the resort.  The room wasn't ready but the front office was nice enough to offer us a complimentary breakfast.  When we arrived at the restaurant at around 8am, it was quite empty.  The crowd showed up from 9am something.  I then know why some resorts intentionally adjust their local time zone with 1 hour ahead.  This way it would encourage the guests to make good use of the day time.

Being the only 2 passengers on a seaplane ride from Male to Dhigali resort, Raa atoll, Maldives

It is very rare that we could take the seaplane as if we were taking a private plane.  Yes, we are the only 2 passengers to the resort Dhigali.  I guess it's probably the price difference of taking a seaplane at US$550 vs. domestic flight plus boat ride at US$300.  The latter one would take an hour something for the flight and another hour for a speed boat ride.  I don't recommend taking the boat from the domestic airport Dharavandhoo airport (Baa Atoll - about 20 min. flight from Male) to the resorts in Raa Atoll, since it's way too distant and in summer season the sea can be quite rough.
