2 bedroom water pool villa, The Residence Maldives

On the brochure of this resort and various packages promotional leaflets, the 2 bedroom pool villa on the end strip of the water villas is the highlight.  The pool of this villa is almost 3 times of the 1 bedroom pool villa.

Falhumaa, restaurant in the ocean, The Residence Maldives

The restaurant is named after the name of the island Falhumaafushi, as Falhumaa.  The restaurant is situated on the outskirt reef reaching the deep bank of the island.  It is of quite some walk but very nice if it's a breezy starry night.  As noted the place being very unique, I already asked about the dress code - with shoulder and ankle covered up.
The place offered very high standard of services and cuisine.  I like the way they have the a-la-carte menu to remark the supplement charges on dishes which the HB/FB may not fully cover.   The prawn cake and mushroom are awesome (photo 6/7).  Got the poached chicken roll (photo 8) and pan fried house reef fish (9).  Very professionally done.  The next day we tried the beef mignon and poached cod.  Another impressive meal!  I like the way all the food were served at a perfect timing and temperature.  That made a very difference.  The flaw would be the dessert - much too sweet and thick.

Dinner at the Dining Room, The Residence Maldives

Service wise this restaurant is awesome.  However, on the FB/HB dinner menu, very few items can be chosen - either a soup or salad or chicken or beef.  It reminds me of the business class menu.  Out of a very limited choices, the good part is the freshest ingredients.  So we gotta taste some very fresh prawns and fish.  The house Thai chef made some very nice Tom Yam soup.  That really made up for the limited choices.  The Indonesian chef isn't bad either.  I tried some very nice Rendang beef.  The minors were the dessert - much too sweet and on the last night the ice cream was half melted.
