The restaurant, HK Sanitorium Hospital

It's been so many years I haven't tried the restaurant of this renowned hospital in HK.  In the old days, their abalone chicken rice in casserole was my top-listed choice.  One of my best friends visited me during my stay and that was what we talked about the goodie of this hospital.  This time I came here for several visits, I asked for my family members to check out this place.  I was joking that there would have been some Sze Chuan hot and spicy casserole so as to cater for the new clientele.  Ended up my guess was right.  We found a lot more than that, e.g. Singapore Laksa.  I somehow chose an all-day breakfast.  It was so good that they used some very nice farm eggs, bacon and the hash brown.  The club sandwich was also very nice.  When the chicken a-la-king was served on the table, I noticed it was a freshly made sauce from the basic butter/flour.  As when I was curious about their cake/deli corner, I noticed an XO sauce.  I was told that that's their house specialty.

Lunch with the view, at Le 188, Harbour Grand Hotel HK

Came here for a friend's birthday celebration in time before the 3rd virus wave hitting the town.  The place was good for a 360 degree of the Harbour and Northern part of HK island.  The meal was not impressive as it claimed to be a fine dining.  The bread was microwave re-heated.  The pork terrine was a bit smelly.  The soup was quite salty.  The main rib eye shouldn't be with such a heavy gravy on top.  The better ones were the dessert choco. ganache.  Though I don't like Movenpick, I still hoped to get an ice cream, probably because of the sunny weather outside.

Lai Kok Shopping center, Cheung Sha Wan, Kowloon, HK

Good to see something to be re-used for other purposes.  Container is one of those.  It's nice to see the local community being revived with its local heritages.

A 4 course set dinner, at Waterfront Bar and restaurant, Harbour Grand Kowloon, HK

On the 2nd night, brought friends to this place for the staycation offer.  This time it was a 4 course set meal, with a caesar salad, lobster bisque, a choice of pork chop with prawn or sirloin with crag leg, a mango pastry and a coffee or tea.  The person who designed the meals seems not to be quite discerning. The last meal lacked vegetable and this one lacked carbohydrates.  After all, all the dishes were very nice, except the lobster bisque.  It wasn't aromatic and yet some corn starch was used for thickening.

Waterfront Bar and restaurant, Harbour Grand Kowloon, HK

On the first night at this hotel, they mistakenly offered the set meal from the July program.  Until we advised them about their set meal serving mandatory items which are all meats and carbohydrates without any vegetable, they found out the booking should be honoured with the set meal of the June program.  Fortunately this meal set is still very nice though it's a bit too heavy.  I don't like Nacho much but this one could be an exception.

Harbour view room, Harbour Grand Kowloon, Hung Hom, HK

This time we went to the other side of the harbour, and tried a staycation offer in the the newly built tower wing (expanded with 10 storeys from the office tower behind the hotel).  In walking into the room, the strait of Lei Yue Mun is right in front and the harbour looks like a big river.  On the right, there is the North Eastern side of HK island,  On the left, we can see the east side of Kowloon and the Kai Tak area.
