It was delightful to know this shop landed HK. I promptly told my friends in Taipei that I had been there and tried their renowned beef noodle shop. They felt they should have visited the original shop in Hsin Zhu (新竹) as their friends in Hsin Zhu often recommended them to visit this original shop. My chat with them made them decide to go for a try. Besides the beef noodle soup, I tried their wonton and chicken thigh noodle. Quite good as well though I prefer their beef noodle soup.

奔之食堂 (Pun's food), TST, HK
When I noticed this shop served Jia Yi turkey rice (嘉義雞肉飯), I had to order one for this long-missed hearty Taiwanese food. Very disappointed that they used chicken meat, instead of turkey meat. The beef noodle soup was disappointing too as it's luke warm and the broth wasn't too authentic. Also ordered a chilled cucumber but didn't take a photo of it. All the dishes were overpriced. Paid HK$400 something for this meal and shared the table with someone.

Zhong Xiao E. Rd. Taiwanese restaurant, iSquare, TST, HK
In the recent 3-5 years, there have been a growing number of Taiwanese restaurants. Most of them highlight their authentic beef noodle soup. Tried this one because of their nice seating area, but the noodle soup wasn't appealing. A bit disappointed with the drink they served in 2/3rd full.

老媽拌麵, Lao Ma Noodle, North Point, HK
Another expanding chain of Taiwanese noodle. This one is renowned from Tainan for its sun-dried noodle. Tried their beef noodle, stewed bean curd and boiled veggie. The noodle is indeed earned by its name. The bean curd is a bit like the Japanese egg bean curd.

Dao Cheng (稻埕) Taiwanese restaurant, Causeway Bay, HK
There has been an increasing no. of Taiwanese restaurants. Tried their white bitter quard stir fried with beef lunch set. The presentation was quite Japanese. Ordered an appetizer bean curd with cucumber in black sesame dressing. Definitely will come back for another try.

Rice drink by Dao Cheng (稻埕) Taiwanese restaurant, HK
My grand ma often told me the good things about rinsed rice water. Boil it as a drink, rinse on face to cleanse pimples.... That's something environmental in the old days. I was excited to see this drink served by this restaurant, and in a very classy way.

Sun's Bazaar, Pacific Place, HK
Have seen some instant noodle products under the brand of Kiki (my favourite restaurant in Taipei) in groceries. This time I noticed this restaurant served a wide range of famous dishes from Kiki, such as hot chili chive black beans minced pork (蒼蠅頭) and drunken chicken. The restaurant also served some Indochinese cuisine from Vietnam, Thai, Malay to Singaporean....

RBT cafe and restaurant, Causeway Plaza, HK
A bit interesting to see some shops coming back to where they had been. This branch came back to the 2nd floor of Causeway Plaza after almost 2 decades. It could be one of the very few first Taiwanese cafe back then. I recalled how my old friends came here for the pearl milk tea (or now commonly known as boba milk tea) and their toast. Someone might forget their old Chinese name as 仙踪林.
This time I tried their dinner set with a salad, soup and a tea in between the main. I chose a lemonade and it was a bit surprising that it was very zesty and lightly sweetened. The beef filet was pretty nice too.

小月渡麵,再渡江 - 香港。Du Hsiao Yueh restaurant, Times Square, Causeway Bay, HK
Running a branch overseas isn't easy when you may not find the original ingredients. This one is getting quite close to those I tried in Taiwan, but the cabbage, spare ribs and chicken didn't let me feel these were from Taiwan. After all, all the dishes are still good, especially the stew minced pork on rice.

Dian Shu Lau, Mitsui Outlet Park Linkou, Taiwan
This restaurant has been gaining word of mouth in Taipei but I haven't yet got a try. A bit interesting that I could find a table in this outlet park mall. The prices were a bit high that might make it less appealing. After trying it, I might not even try the other branches. The only better one is the stir fried cabbage with sakura dried shrimps but it's just the homey dish feeling to me.
