A continental breakfast at Au Fidele Berger, Annecy, SE France

This place is quite crowded with locals for their chocolate drink and pastry.  To avoid the crowd, we came here for a continental breakfast (about EUR8.50 covering 2 breads with jam/butter, fresh orange juice and coffee/tea).  We also tried their cafe au lait (coffee with hot milk) with a perrier to go with it.

Virgin Mojito, Schweppes

The first browse at this Virgin Mojito the fridge of the deli of Gallerie Lafayette made my choice for an afternoon drink.  It's so cool and refreshing right after a hot day outside.  The pastry of Lafayette is not surprising at all, but no complaint as it's just EUR2-3.

Mercure hotel, Annecy, SE France

Accor hotel in France often gives me a secure feeling of a certain standard from front office, housekeeping, room condition to breakfast.  This one further proved it.  With just a few euros, you can have a nice breakfast serving fresh baguette, croissant, bread slices, cold cut, fresh fruits, yoghurt, scrambled egg, bacon and fresh orange juice plus fresh coffee.  I'd rather enjoy this kind of breakfast than those mix-breakfast buffet.

The market, Annecy, SE France

I've always enjoyed browsing markets in Frnace.  This market in Annecy is even better than those I have visited (e.g. Cannes and Nice).  The fruits and other produces are really rich.  Plums and chestnuts are the biggest I have ever seen.  This place is gifted with all these natural resources.  I believe it's attributed to the nearby snowy mountain and lakes.  It reminds me of Hokkaido where there are snowy mountains and lakes too.

Chez Mamie Lize, Annecy, SE France

Cheese fondue is nothing new to us but cheese in grill is rather interesting that I'd love to give it a try. When a platter of various cheese was served together with a variety of cold cuts with some green on the side, it just made my appetite.  I used to like cheese a lot but couldn't because of my weak stomach.  This time I forgot all about that.  The burnt melty cheese on the cold cut was really delicious.  It made all the other dishes we ordered became the second or third pick on the table.  The potato is shiny like a bald head.  Of course, it just didn't look nice.  Among all the dishes, the duck breast is quite disappointing though.  It's just uncooked, not medium rare.  As for the dessert, the blueberry ice cream is quite nice.

Biking along the lake of Annecy, SE France

Rent a bike to ride along the northern part of the lake.  Ride, rest, watch, chat, and ride again.  Made my day...
