Paris in April

Drifting memories, in River Seine down to the Sky, Paris

This April has been unusually cold in Paris and I thought I could finally have a warmer visit out of the past 10 cold visits that I made in January over the years.  Even though it was still cold, I enjoyed walking along River Seine.  The gloomy sky touched on the drifting blues of the river, as if it brought back someone's reflection of memories hundred years ago.

Starbucks, Ave. Opera, Louvre, Paris, France

It was about 8-9 years ago when Starbucks opened its shops in Paris.  I got curious to give it a try and it was very thin (only 1/3rd of a standard Starbucks quality).  I then got told it was made that way to differentiate American coffee as that thin.  It was quite exaggerating.  In time, it has come back to what a Starbucks standard to be.

Notre Dame, Paris

The first time I visited Paris, I was so impressed with this place.  Since then, I have always enjoyed spending some time here.

Good day with a nice breakfast to start with, Best Western Opera Louvre, Paris

Enjoy the breakfast of this place, simply because it's just simple but delicate and in a nice amount of variety.  When I noticed this hotel only has about 15 rooms, I wondered if the breakfast would be just a few bread rolls, one choice of juice and coffee.  In fact, I don't need too much hot food for the breakfast.  I prefer nice fresh fruit juice, coffee, bread and cold cut.  This restaurant got what I basically want.  I am amazed at the tea choices (about 8) and the preserve too.  Made my day.

Hotel Best Western Louvre Opera, Paris, France

Over the past 15 years, I have tried quite a no. of hotels in Paris around the Opera/Louvre area.  At this recent visit, I still chose this area and glad to find this one in between Opera Ave. and St. Anne Street (the Japanese town).  The location is very good in the centre within easy walk to Louvre, Rue St. Honore and Rivoli, and north to Opera/Lafayette.  Besides, it's in a quiet street behind such a busy street as Opera Ave. and St. Anne.  All the staff here are very friendly and helpful.  This hotel will be my preferred choice in my future visits in Paris.

Leaving Venice

On the day that I was leaving, I enjoyed so much walking around the outskirt area of Venice.  Venetians mixed their living in such a vibrant colour.  I also see part of the living of my Grand parents. So pleasant and so scenic...
