Song Fa spare rib soup, Central World, BKK

Have seen this shop in Singapore expanding a lot and now going overseas.  Those branches in Singapore are much too busy that alternately I'd try the branch in BKK.  The soup was a bit hotter in pepper flavour than that of Singapore.  The other dishes were also quite Singaporean.

Red Diamond Specialty coffee, Central World, BKK

Asked for an iced skimmed latte but it was so bland but yet too milky that I had to return for another one.  This iced drink looks like a whisky on ice, but the iced water on the side makes it even smaller.  The tart wasn't too impressive either.

Somtam convent, Central World, BKK

The grilled chicken was the worst ever I tried in BKK.  The meat was very mashy.  I could tell it was defrost for a long time.  So this meal was just on the mango salad.

Paul, Central World, BKK

It's interesting that no matter how full I am, whenever I see some plain bread on the table, I can't help getting a bite or even taking it all.  Paul has been always the choice for me in Bangkok (and Sapporo too).  Because of this magnet, I'd always skip the breakfast of the hotels.

Apinara, The Grove, Central World BKK

Originally I'd like to visit Nara Thai in Emquartier but it was fully booked.  So the next day I brought my friends to try this one in Central World.  Personally I'd prefer the one in Emquartier though this one isn't bad.  This time I gotta try the raw shrimp as not most of my friends would be willing to try it.  Nara's signature ice cream shouldn't be missed either.

San Yod Chinese restaurant, Central World Plaza, BKK

The shop has been renovated lately by taking away those plastic duck dummy in their display open kitchen.  So it's much different that we then gave it a try as the shop has quite some history about their flat rice noodle in gravy and BBQ duck.  Turned out most dishes are pretty good.  I guess they have the biggest shrimp patty I have ever tried - almost double.

Eat All Thai, Groove, Central World BKK

If we weren't told about the background of this restaurant, I would simply pass it without regret because the restaurant's name and deco. look not so convincing.  As when the dishes were served, the aroma of the crab meat omelette, deep fried crab cake, the deep fried split chicken wings really stimulate anyone's appetite.  We made a mistake though for ordering all the food at one time and some dishes should be taken when hot or warm.  Must go for another try!

OMU omelette rice restaurant, Central World, BKK

Got surprised that this shop made some very nice Japanese pork chop cutlet.  It out-wins most other chain brands in BKK and even in HK too, as the pork is way much better than those we get in HK. The omelette rice was good too, especially the egg was cooked in a perfect  texture.  Need to return to this place and try more other dishes.

Apinara Thai restaurant, the Groove, Central World BKK

This restaurant chain has grown into more diverse branches and this one called Apinara.  Their Pad Thai is still kept at a good standard and this one with soft shell crab.  Though it's a bit not so local Thai, it's quite nice to have it be different.  All the other food we ordered are pretty good.
