Pure Dining, IFC II, HK

This branch is a bit better than the closed one in Soho.  I like the salad in a very light olive oil and lemon juice.  The bread basket is not bad either, but the fish and chips and pizza are not that appealing.  Another draw back is the poor air conditioning and pretty hot at 27-28 degree inside.

Dressed, IFC mall Central, HK

A salad at HK$60 for 4 choices of veggie and extra $ for some meat items like (spiced chicken at an extra of HK$8 and egg white at $8.  There are even more of these kinds of extras at over HK$20).  So this salad is at HK$76.  The romaine lettuce is too old and chewy.  The spiced chicken is simply sweet hard over-thousand-nights fridge left over.  Then I got curious to get a gingered pear smoothie at HK$38.  It's just ice and syrup with some imaginary scent of pear and a very light ginger aroma.  No next time!

添好運點心專門店 Tim Ho Wan dim sum shop HK Airport Express Terminal mall, Central HK

Its first shop in Mongkok made its glorious days after Michelin gave a one star.  In just a few years, 3 more branches were opened including this one at the basement 2nd floor of the HK Airport Express station terminal - good for those who had their city check-in, to grab a few dim sum before going to the airport.  In fact, there were quite many other shops which failed due to the location that most people were in such a rush.  However, Tim Ho Wan turned this twist of fate and stopped those who would rather take the risk of missing the flight than a shouldn't-miss dim sum meal.
This time I got baked BBQ pork buns, shrimp dumplings, steamed sponge cake and beef balls.  All are pretty good and in a classic cooking style, except the sponge cake is a bit bitter.

Mayan Enigma showcase, IFC, Central HK

The Movie 2012 and the recent Earth movements together with hot topics of the web social networking forums, this lost culture has been talk of the town. BTW, even the news just reported on the recent active movement of Yellowstone National Park with an annual 10cm land-rise - a sign of active volcanic eruption.
1. Originally tried to wait for the 2 human shadow a bit left but it's too crowded for me to wait. Still not bad to have some human shadow to make it more enigmatic.
2. the showcase is now held in the IFC mall (west side).
3. The show was co-sponsored by Leica. This photo was taken on 24mm, ISO60, 1/250 second, F9.5. I noticed most of the photos were taken in bright sunny days. Though the ISO was set at 60, the strong bright light over-expose the color to me. Leica claimed most of their digital sensors don't need the UV filter, as their sensors can have such UV offset but I found that's not enough. If the exposure is set at -2, the color wasn't that natural. Under this circumstance, personally a professional UV filter lens would help. Still optical adjustment is better than digital. *Sorry if I hurt the feeling of Leica's fans, but it is purely my personal view.
4. The showcase attracts lots of photography fans too.

Yo Mama Frozen Yoghurt, IFC, Central, Hong Kong

Frozen yoghurt time! Yo Mama just opened in the IFC mall at the entrance bridge link to the Central pier. What caught my eyes was not the yoghurt or the shop's name. Check the below.
1. The shop. 2. See that cow on the glass. Doesn't it look like "Milk Plus" of Thailand? That's the thing catching my attention first.

3. A large size at HK$35 with 1 topping. It's quite frosty in texture and really not sweet at all, almost by half as compared to Best Berry (I-Square) and 2/3rd to Buddhi Berry (Bangkok). So if you prefer something smooth and richer in sweet taste, this may not be the one. I would treat it as a ice sweet in between frozen yoghurt and sorbet, but it's not bad. I kind of like it.

IFC patio garden, Central, Hong Kong

Foggy, windy, sunny, dry are all mixed up in March and April, making this city of glass and metal smoky or shiny.
1. A dim sunset reflected on ICC, West Kowloon.
2. The once so-called collective memory - Star Ferry/Queen's Pier. How come now no more "collective" or would it be remembered collectively when it will be moved again, 50 or 60 years later?
3. A cool resting place on the IFC's mall patio.
4. Something very independent. 5. Exchange square and Jardine Building (Connaught Building).
6. IFC (II) reaching out the foggy sky. 7. Garden on IFC mall.
8. New highway linking Central to Wanchai north.
9. Airport Express Station.
10. patio view to Four Seasons Hotel.
11. evening view to the pier.

12. Red Bar and lounge by Pure Fitness.

Simply Life, IFC II, Central, Hong Kong

This shop used to be a Maxim's sub-brand outlet (forget the name) and now it has been changed to a pastry/sandwich cafe.

1/2. the shop looks quite clean with lots of variety of pastry and sandwich.
3. the shop is mainly in a black color tune - kind of remind me of Greyhound Cafe BKK. 4. The iced-chocolate is pretty good and it's not those ordinary chocolate. It's not that heavy but quite rich in a "nut" flavour but I can't figure out what that's it. Something between hazelnut and pecan nut. I was quite surprised the iced decaf coffee is quite aromatic and they use the Japanese thick cream. Both are at HK$26 (cheaper than Starbucks). Then next to it is Coffee Banofee (not sure the spelling). Though it's quite crispy, it doesn't have the coffee taste.

5/6. another view to the shop.
