Komune, Ovolo South Side hotel, Wong Chu Hang, HK

I was amazed at how the younger and mid-age generations enjoy the music here, e.g. songs by Belinda Carlisle, Bertie Higgins,  REO Speed Wagon...etc., those were the 80's American pop.
Quite many restaurants in HK and BKK have one common problem - Smoking isn't warned by the venue operators as those take place in the venue's enclosed area.  I felt a bit annoyed with those smoking from the balcony wide open to the air-conditioning dining area.  This is indeed not environmental and damaging the air-conditioning system.
Got a burger for myself and it's pretty good.  The spare ribs was a bit too fat inside.

Malacca Cuisine, Fortress Hill, HK

Noticed quite a no. of Malay and Vietnamese restaurants in North Point to Fortress Hill.  The aroma of Malay spare rib soup from this shop drove me to get a hearty meal.  They offered a dinner set including a spare soup with rice noodle, a side dish and a drink at about HK$78.  I chose a morning glory with Malay shrimp paste and a red date/goji berry drink.  The spare rib soup was indeed very nice.  Spare rib was done in a nice texture, not too chewy nor too soft.  The shrimp paste was hot but very aromatic.

Obihiro Hageten, Elements, Kowloon, HK

I have been thinking about paying a visit to Obhiro for its rich produce and renowned pork.  When I browsed the restaurant list of Elements mall, the name of thsi restaurant made my choice.  I thought of my favourite grilled Tokachi pork in Hokkaido.  It's a very comfortable substitute I could try a good meal of Obhiro pork.

RBT cafe and restaurant, Causeway Plaza, HK

A bit interesting to see some shops coming back to where they had been.  This branch came back to the 2nd floor of Causeway Plaza after almost 2 decades.  It could be one of the very few first Taiwanese cafe back then.  I recalled how my old friends came here for the pearl milk tea (or now commonly known as boba milk tea) and their toast.   Someone might forget their old Chinese name as 仙踪林.
This time I tried their dinner set with a salad, soup and a tea in between the main.  I chose a lemonade and it was a bit surprising that it was very zesty and lightly sweetened.  The beef filet was pretty nice too.

An X encounter at Cyber Port, HK

This was the first time I visited this place.  As when I walked down to the promenade, I found the lines of trees on the right sea front a bit strange that something was watching out there.  I didn't take the photo.  Then when I stepped on the big stone ground (photo 1), I felt some forces pushing up from the ground, as if it was floating up.  Further on the left, there were some low trees and a bit too low that I felt a phobia of pressure from above when I walked passed those.  Later on, we noticed a "snake warning" sign.  It's natural for some snakes staying there as the trees are a good shelter for snakes.

Friends in Marriott Ocean Park, HK

In entering the hotel main entrance, this gigantic fish tank of 3 storey high is very spectacular.  Have seen all these fishes in Maldives and made me so warm that I miss those friends in the Indian Ocean atolls.

Marriott Ocean Park, HK

Some of my friends wonder why I went to try some local hotels.  My answer was "support the local economy wherever possible".  I was glad to find out I could also get to know more around the neighbouring area that I might miss in the past.  To this end, I could see more of this city I grew up with.  I could further get enlightened to see the past of myself.
The room was quite comfy and spacious, but the bed mattress of Marriott/Sheraton the so-called heavenly bed made me a hard time to sleep.  It was too foamy and slopping if the house keeping didn't keep up a good work to flaten the mattress topper.  The sound proof of this room reminded me of Renaissance Bangkok.
