Poolside restaurant, Island Shangrila HK
Tried a Caesar salad, club sandwich and a mushroom risotto. The salad and risotto were much too oily. Fortunately the club sandwich could make it up.

Breakfast buffet, Cafe Too, Island Shangrila, HK
The buffet of this restaurant was one of my favourites but I then didn't visit as it was much too crowded. Tried their breakfast this time. I had a congee as a starter to warm up my stomach. Tried their dim sum and hot food. Those were pretty good.

Dinner set meal, the Drawing Room, St. Regis HK.
This place has been a hot spot and I was told it required 1 month advance booking. This time I called for a booking 3 days ago. As it served a meal set (hummus, ravioli and a choco. crepe), I asked if they catered for a replacement for certain diet. They were quite thoughtful of having a quinoa salad, steamed fish and fresh fruit. As I was curious to try their original menu, so I stayed with it. The humus and ravioli were quite nice, though it's a bit boring (and as I expected) that some Michelin style mousses like beetroot, pumpkin... as garnish. The ravioli was a bit too small (only 3 pieces, supposed ravioli should be served in 6). The choco. crepe wasn't aromatic enough. So I'd prefer the diet menu.

Breakfast at Cafe, Hotel Renaissance Wanchai, HK
The staycation offer covers a set dinner and a breakfast at HK$1,700. The set dinner for 2 is about HK$1,600 and the breakfast about HK$600. Yet with an upgrade to a panoramic harbour view, the offer is a double bargain.
It was not crowded for the breakfast but I can still find a big variety of food choices. Nice coffee and fruit juices. If the pool wasn't such a big drawback, I would definitely come back for another stay.

Buy-1-Get-1-Free deal, at the Feast of East hotel, Taikooshing, HK
The hotel offers a buy-1-get-1 free 3 course set lunch or dinner. After discount (from HK$358+), the net is about HK$220 per person. So we had a smoked salon and a parma ham for the starter, trip sirloin for the main and creme brulee and fruit platter for the dessert. All were very good and of selected quality. Even the iced decaf coffee was very aromatic. So the folllowing weekend we came back for a try. It was a bit disappointing for the return visit. The trip loin wasn't that good and even the coffee wasn't either.

Lunch buffet at the Colonade restaurant, the Sukhothai hotel, BKK
The place was very quiet during lunch. The cold dishes were all good and I didn't expect much from the hot dishes as usually it's difficult to maintain good quality for the hot dishes. In general, it's a nice lunch buffet and the plus was the free flow of coffee and tea. I was surprised with the selected quality coffee they served.

A breakfast of a floral morning, at Cafe Vista, Vista Wanda Hotel Kunming
The breakfast of this cafe was quite impressive that they have a very wide variety and yet those were of some good quality. I noticed they have a local famous flower pastry (the purple one on the left bottom of photo 1). Yunan is very famous of her flowers. So using flowers in their local cuisine is natural. I took this pastry for every breakfast.

Yi Cafe, Shangrila Ningbo, China
The breakfast of this Shangrila impressed me a lot, from the selected fruits, cold cut, bread to Chinese pan fried pork bun, tea leaf soaked egg, Shanghai fried noodle and baked pastry. Even the coffee was of some high quality. I felt like I hadn't had enough for only 2 days of breakfast here.

Beef noodle soup, by Four Points by Sheraton Linkou, Taiwan
Got in a flight delay and so checking in the hotel late that I had no choice but eat in the hotel. It took quite some time for this beef noodle to serve. When it was served, I knew why it took so long as the beef was grilled. The soup was quite nice and not that heavily seasoned.
