Quite many resorts in Hokkaido cover half board with a dinner buffet. In terms of the variety and quality, most resorts I have ever been to Hokkaido, are far better than the others in Japan. I like the sushi rice, steamed rice and black bean rice they made. The only drawback is the western cuisine but I don't mind giving that up as all the other Japanese dishes have made up for that.
