Cafe Milani, Times Square, Causeway Bay, HK

Tried their cakes and ice cream.  It's quite a classic flavour and style but a bit too sweet to me.  The coffee wasn't too aromatic.  Quite disappointed and wonder if the master chef might not have a good management team.  There are quite several branches opened in different areas at the same time.

強記美食 (Keung Kee local food), Wanchai, HK

Brought quite many friends to this street stall on Marsh Road (Wanchai).  It's also a favourite shop of my good old friend.  She would have been so happy to see this shop having an air-conditioning bigger one.
Talked to the owner and he said the old place's rent was rocket high at around HK$70k for just about 100 square feet place.  So he decided to choose this new shop at a justified rent.  The shop is just around the corner on Lockhart Road.

Saori Pancake shop, Causeway Bay, HK

Read the news about this place which got some covid cases 5 days ago.  Came here a week ago and it was such a close moment when we might be vulnerable to viruses.  It's time to avoid to visit crowded shops.
The signature dessert is their chestnut pancake.  They put a chilled chestnut paste into a grinder to drop on the pancake.  This way, the chestnut "angel hair" would be quite fluffy.  Suggest you take it within 20 minutes as the "angel hair" might become pressed.  This one simply reminds me of the "snowy" ice of Taiwan.  After visiting this place, I googled the name of the shop and found out it was almost 99% a copycat of the same name dessert place in Kyoto, Japan.  Even the table setting and utensil look similar.

Bean curd sweet in Sok Kwu Wan, Lamma Island

Seems like every place would have her iconic food.  I believe bean curd sweet would be the one of Lamma Island.  This time I tried their 雞屎藤 (Paederia) sticky rice dumpling but didn't finish it as it was a bit dried out that it's not good for stomach.

Chilled mango sticky rice dumpling, (芒果糯米糍), 允升甜品, Cheung Chau

Quite interesting that over the past 20 years Cheung Chau has been so famous for its chilled mango sticky rice dumpling (芒果糯米糍).  Perhaps it's because there are some classic Chinese bakery shops which are good at various Chinese buns & pastries.  So I passed by this shop and got attracted by their other classic sweets like red bean sweet and walnut creamy soup.  Quite classic taste though a bit too sweet to me

Cafe Crepe, K11, Tsimshatsui, HK

The shop looked good that I could find some nice French crepe.  Quite disappointing for both the crepe and the muffin.  The crepe wasn't in a nice aroma but just heavy sugar and cinnamon.  The muffin was too dried out but quite greasy.  The mocha was much too sweet without neither the coffee nor chocolate flavour.

Icremeria, City Gate, Tung Chung, HK

This shop arrived at the new extension of the City Gate, Tung Chung.  It serves more than green tea or melon sweets.  Other than their signature green tea parfait, we tried the lychee soda and dark choco strawberry crepe.  Quite refreshing to try something else.

Apricot tart and choco tart by Passion, Causeway Bay HK

Passed by Lee Garden and noticed this new branch.  Tried their apricot tart and choco muffin.  I'd like the way they made it not that sweet but with a strong flavour of the ingredients.  HK$28-35 for a pastry is quite a good deal and it's quite a big size.

Due de Praslin, soi 31 Sukhumvit, BKK

Visited this place every now and then.  This time I tried their mango raspberry soda.  It was very refreshing when you had quite some walk in the heat.

One after another, with After You, Central Lad Prao, BKK

Keeping up a legendary business isn't easy.  After you made it to launch more and more dessert after its signature Shibuya Toast.  This silky ice with various toppings attracts not only its loyal customers but also draws those who loves icy dessert.  Some simple decoration on the dessert made it even more appealing.  This Milo snowy ice was truly delightful.

Thong Sweet, Central Embassy, BKK

In taking the success of its sister noodle, there came a dessert shop highlighting their coconut ice cream.    Frankly, I prefer the coconut ice cream from the food court of T21 as that one has a stronger fresh coconut juice.  This one is a bit too creamy.  However, their herbal jelly with longan was very nice.

Nana's Ice Cream, Ekkaimai, BKK

Passed by soi 5 of Ekkaimai, and noticed a new Japanese mall.  There I saw Nana's Ice Cream.  Glad to see it arrived at BKK.  I had no excuse but rushed to this place for a try.  It's as good as what we had in Hokkaido.  The return tray area looks also the same of Japan.  The place was good for a cozy afternoon.

Purple yam delights by UCC Cafe, Sapporo, Hokkaido

The shop had a promotion of purple yam dessert.  So we had 2 big dishes of one soft ice cream with red bean and a waffle.  The purple yam paste was much too sweet with heavy cream inside.  So I just took a slight bite and finished the waffle.

杏香園 (Hang Heong Un) dessert shop, old quarter, Macau

It was surprising to me after I checked in the hotel at Ponte 16, I googled around and found out this dessert shop was just within a 3 minute walk.  I then brought my business fellows to this place and mentioned to them how I tried the first branch of this shop in Eslite store of Tai Koo Shing.  The menu looks the same as their HK branch's and even the text font and colour are the same, except the prices which are about 10-20% higher than HK's.

大開眼界: 寧波湯圓,實至名歸。

I'm not much into sticky rice dumplings, but as when I took a bite from it, I thought of my mother.  She used lard in quite many of her cooking.  Now I know why Ning Bo is that famous for sticky rice dumplings.  I'd like the way they served the dumplings in the same water boiled with dumplings.  I got told by my Beijing friend that if we wanna have our stomach digest well with dumplings (Beijing dumplings that time I took), we have to take the same water boiling the dumplings.
Sticky rice isn't too good with my stomach but this time I got to believe that the dumpling water is the key.

Frozen Yoghurt plus 2 grilled mochi.

Kyo Hayashiya, Sogo Yokohama, Japan

It's a bit interesting to taste some used tea leaves preserved in salt as a condiment (the small dish on the right side of the below green tea delights.  It turned out as very refreshing from the strong flavour of green tea ice cream, and even making the green tea taste more crisp.

Nana's Green Tea, Grand Front Osaka

It's a bit interesting that those various green tea desserts I tried in Kyoto and Osaka weren't that green tea aromatic than those I tried in Hokkaido.  Even this chain branch wasn't that nice as compared to the other 2 branches I tried in Sapporo.  So don't consider the chain as either just good or bad for all the branches.  They vary quite extremely.  Another example is the Starbucks outlet in Chamonix (France) and McDonald's in Lamai beach (Samui).  These are the worst among all the branches of their groups.
