Studio suite, Oakwood suites, Sukhumvit 24, BKK

Tried Oakwood apartment across the street years ago but it wasn't a pleasant stay.  This time the experience was on the opposite.  The room was clean and spacious.  I'd like the pantry area with a washing machine.

East Residence, Taikoo Place, HK

1. The bed is quite awkward to be right next to the door entrance.  The deco. and furniture looks pretty premium but after I tried them, they weren't too practical.  Too low-lying and yet the couch having the steel frame bottom I could sit right on such hard frame.  The large coffee table was much in the way.  The kitchen is installed with all built-in appliances.  Tried their microwave-grill stove and that's the only thing I find it useful.  It's not really nice to have open kitchen like that, when you cook something which can get your room with that odour for a day or 2.  The view is a 360 office view.  It's really not nice to have the bathroom door facing the office building.  So you have to close the curtain most of the time.  Was given 2 tiny shampoo and cleansing bars.  So forget it!

Deluxe studio, Apartment Kapok, HK

Gradually this serviced apartments have bought out all the units of one of the buildings of Causeway Centre. Visited this newly renovated unit on a high floor.  There came a strong plastic odour when we walked in the unit.  The layout was quite nice with a walk-in closet and a fully equipped kitchen with washer.  The monthly rent is about HK$20k.

Deluxe studio, Kornhill Apartment, HK

This room is smaller than the others, but a bit newer.  We could see some furniture from ikea.

Kornhill Apartment, Tai Koo, HK

Out of curiosity, I came to check out this serviced apartment.  The sales agent was very courteous to show me various units.  This one is a big studio of 500 sq. feet at HK$19,000 monthly.  Very spacious but a bit run down.  Noticed the air-conditioning having some mould.

Deluxe Suite, Fraser Suites Chengdu

It's a bit interesting to see either the room is big or small, there are too many stuff in the room making it a bit awkward.

Citadines on Bourke, Melbourne

Quite many hotels in Australia are relatively expensive.  Any 3-4 star hotels can cost around US$200-300.  Found out this one from Wingon travel at least 40% cheaper than those common Agoda and hotels.com, US$120 vs US$220.  As when I checked in, I got an upgrade to a 1 BR suite (double the size of a studio), at 68 sq. m.  The location of this one is good that it is not right in the city centre and takes about 10-15 minutes walk to the busy area.  It's a bit unsafe to walk in downtown at night time.  On the 2nd/3rd nights, I'd chose to dine near the hotel area.

Apartment O (陳公館), Hoi Ping Road, Causeway Bay HK

I often thought about having a short term apt. to move in for an entire renovation of my current place.  This thought was taken by one of my family members whose apt. got in trouble causing for an urgent move to a short term apt.  So I could visit this temporary place for my future planning (maybe another long long awaited one).  The rent wasn't that high, at around HK20k (for a 250 sq. ft. unit) a month including some cleaning services and a nice house lounge.  The most considerable point was that it is in the south Causeway Bay, on Hoi Ping Road (Lei Garden).  It's in a very quiet location but yet only 2 minutes you can walk to the busiest part of Causeway Bay - Times Square & Hysan Place.
