Hlahal Soup Curry, Lake Toya, Hokkaido

Soup curry is quite famous in Hokkaido, but I tried 2 different shops that it wasn't to my preference.  Out of curiosity, I tried this one because it's was such a foggy day that I would like to have something to clear up.  Unfortunately this soup curry was much oily.  The veggie was deep fried and yet the soup was  with a thick layer of oil.  The rice was oily too that I had to give up.  The soft ice cream was a milk sorbet.

The Misty Lake Toya, Hokkaido

The weather this year for Japan seemed to be a bit unusually warm.  This day, it went up to 12 degree and there came a romantic fog embracing Lake Toya.

Kaiseiki meal part 1 - dinner, Lake View Toya Nonokaze, Hokkaido

Booked a half board meal plan for this resort and pay an extra of JPY5,400 (appro. US$45) net for a meal upgrade.  The original meal plan for a dinner buffet is about JPY4-5,000 (appro. US$40).  That means this kaiseiki meal will be at around JPY90,000 (appro. US$80).  As when I looked at their menu, it's much worth.  If I take this kind of premium meal set in HK, that would cost about US$200-300.  The surprising part is that they will continue the meal for the next day breakfast.  That means this meal covers 2 meal upgrading.
We got advised to arrive before 6pm.  When we looked at the menu items, I understood why they asked us to arrive before 6pm.  We finished the meal at 9pm.  3 hours for a dinner.  All the items were very nice except that I personally didn't like the shabu shabu much.  It was so good to have the wasabi freshly shred.
