Langham Xiamen

CX has a package for 2 night stay at some very fine hotels in Xiamen, e.g. this Langham hotel with breakfast plus ticket at just only HK$1,700 net per person.  It's even cheaper than going to Macau.  This Langham is somewhat over my expectation.  Modern and tidy room and a very nice gym and pool.  So even if you don't plan to go out.  Just coming here for a short relaxing rest is much worth it.

Old Xiamen restaurant, Xiamen

I'm quite surprised with most of the restaurants and hotels services being quite attentive and very polite, and even much better than those of HK's.  The way the locals speak remind me of those Taiwanese.  The food also sounds the same.  Tried this place for its claiming local Xiamenese food.  Finally I found the Xiamen stir fried rice noodle but it's not what I used to have in HK.  No surprise.  The 2nd photo showed the authentic casserole Ginger duck (薑母鴨).  Perhaps Xiamen might be the origin for ginger duck.  It's really nice that they made the duck meat very tender and aromatic with strong ginger and wine.

Xiamen, China

I am a bit surprised that the local Xiamen people are talking and acting very gently or even I find HK people are ruder than them.  The way they speak and think remind me of Taiwanese people.  I'm further surprised that I could buy some nice clothes from the local shops.  The cutting and fabric are of some high quality too.

Create happiness, in Xiamen

When I noticed those kids are using the same towels to slide down, the first thing coming to my mind is hygiene.  However, I did something similar when I was a kid.  Just another time and place.  It's also the way of how we create our happiness.  The problem is if we are willing.
