The 46th HK brands and products expo (part 1). 維園工展會

The expo was over about a week ago. I was happy to join the visit with my sister's family at this fun expo., and in fact impressed too. It's very well organised and lots of interesting indie and big brands were there. My sister and I also got excited to see the Thai brand Khon Kaen having a booth there. Naturally we bought a pack of freshly roasted dried pork (the last 2nd photo). Too bad their roasting machine wasn't powerful enough to make it burnt a bit. Anyway, we were still happy enough. More photos to follow on part 2.... *I believe many people would forget what's there on the last photo.

Remember when I was a kid going to those. The special memories was the candy that was like a ping pong paddle. Could never finish those candy.

har the Thai brand dried pork also has a booth here? no wonder its Paragon branch has less HK tourists interested .. now they can buy locally in HK without carrying them across the South China Sea!

oh so soon maybe open a branch in Pasadena - the representative city of LA (according to someone lol) ..

Oh, Pixmation, that's really something for Ping Pong paddle candy. That candy can last for 2-3 days! Very memorable.
Mickey, most of all and so in a Thai mood, the beautiful Thai ladies spoke Thai among themselves and Thai accent Cantonese to us, like we were in Yaowara. :) Good idea to open a branch of this dried pork shop in Pasadena, to save a lot of travel time for someone. :)

Yes Mickey and SEA I was going to say this as soon as I saw the big sign of the crispy pork ad.

Tell you what, they also have the Lam Jen Hueng type of rice cracker with pork too in New Territory(Yuen Long and Sha Tien). My friend brought to me.

Mr. Lam told me he works with 優之良品 as their HK wholesaler. This HK snack shop has many branches all over HK and even 4 shops in the HK Airport, doing so well in every corner.

This HK snack shop is my frequently visited shop in LA. They have 2 stores within my driving distance in MP and San Gabriel.

1/4 lb of succulent porky is $10US.
1/4 lb of "Big Rabbit" or "Fat Da Candy" or "Swiss Candy" also $10 US.

I can spend here more than buying grocery from 99 Ranch Market(in same complex).

Thank you Sea for showing this.

Wow... it's so expensive for those candies you listed. You are really in HK living mode. :)

Stella said...

Yes and you are more LA and US mode than me. At least you watched CNN, ABC, CBS while only TVB for me.
:)

I just got TVB on my cable for the first time in 20 years. What are shows that you usually watch?

Hi Pixmation,
Congratulations.
Welcome to the Jade Channel TVB Club.
I watch all programs from 9pm to 1 am everyday. (At least my TVB channel is on.)
Oh, they also mention the CNY Fair at night time this week so you cannot miss it.
On Sunday night there is one program about good food/snack at night time in HK(mainly Causeway Bay, Wanchai area). It is held by Long Leg Crab and Lai Kwok Fai(he looks like you). The Chinese name of this program is called "Yue Yeh Yue Mei Mei"(The later time at night the more tasty the food.).
Also on Saturday night there is a program called "Chok Chok Chok" it is fun too.
On Tuesday night around 11 pm there is a program called "Tuesday special" talking the popular topic in HK.
Enjoy.

My spirit is left in HK and BKK SEA.

Oh Pixmation, there is a Cantonese Radio 1430 AM(24 hours) that you can listen when you are driving. Lots of info about news(local and HK) and other good info. Their station is on Green Street in Pasadena. That is where I heard this morning they reported Apple Store decided not to sell the new IPhone in Shanghi and Beijing.
