Gangehi resort, North Ari Atoll, Maldives

It could be one of the very few resorts in Maldives that they have some wooden walkway to connect each place.  Quite a coincidence that I had to walk on firmer ground due to a previous foot injury.  It's arranged.  

The resort is quite small in size; so it further contrasts the long stretch of sand bank.  The one and only indeed.  The gardening is somewhat Chinese and their spa is called Ginger.  The villa design is not that local Maldivian.  It looks quite ancient Chinese too.

This sand bank has drawn my attention to go have a visit and stay at this resort Gangehi.  It is stretched almost a mile long from the resort.  The shape, wave and sand in contrast the turquoise water and blue sky made it such an unforgettable picture.

On this trip for our friends who just made this very first trip to Maldives, we arranged 2 resorts.  The first one is a new one and the 2nd one is good at its marine environment - lots of fishes and nice house reef.  It's a very nice surprise that we got to encounter all the various rare marine life, e.g. turtles, mantra, sting rays, sharks, turtles, eel.  Most of all, we have seen the turtles at a very close encounter - only 1-3 feet around and quite several times.  We also saw a giant eel of 10 feet x 1 foot size.  Make it as an Amazing Maldives!

This year we brought 2 groups of old school friends to Maldives.  The first trip was to this little secluded island resort Drift Thelu Veliga.  When the seaplane touched down, the resort looks so small as how it is named.
