Madam Kwan's, basement (L1), Pavillion, Kuala Lumpur

Last time when I was here in Pavillion, it wasn't fully occupied with restaurants. Some of my favourite shops like Madam Kwan's, Dragon I and Crystal Jade have opened their branches here. It was 3pm when I was here and I couldn't help jumping in for a deep fried chicken thigh and a chendol. Turned out I ordered more than a snack - Kuay Teow and Fujian fried noodle. *I like the way they put the syrup on the side. That's why I only eat chendol here. Besides, their pandan mini jelly is very special with some burnt aroma. That took away the grass smell of pandan leaves that I really can't take it.

Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur

This Ritz Carlton reminds me of the old one in Central Hong Kong (now CCB headquarters), e.g. the color tune, carpet and deco...etc. Sometimes it's good to go back to some classic hotel room when we have too much chic and trendy ones. The room is very spacious, and so is the bathroom. Butler's service is provided, for some complimentary juices, coffee/tea or unpacking/packing...etc. Guess which Ritz Carlton is it?

SW Wanchai, St. Francis street to Star Street, 聖佛蘭士街至星街, HK

Used to come here very often with my colleagues for lunch. The Dai Pa Dong (street stall) on photo 6 was our favourite place. Back then, they had a powerful stove for stir fried noodle/rice. Unfortunately, due to the complaint from the residents in the neighbourhood, they got to close that down and now that Dai Pa Dong only served toasted and milk tea. The other one went to open another shop (photo 10 Keung Kee). Though they still serve the fried rice/noodle, it's not the same, simply because those old powerful stove can only work in open area.
Saw the original Epoch again (the last 2nd photo). It was the first cafe having a live DJ and a wide selection of alternate, chill out and lounge music, back to the late 90's. Since then, this area has been growing with a lot more hip and trendy shops.

Mauve/Aromas/Aaqu, restaurants & lounge, Radisson Suites Sukhumvit BKK

All these restaurants are located next to the lobby and also on the entrance of the hotel on the soi 13 Sukhumvit. The deco. is pretty comfortable in general. The food is at average but their service is impressive. When my friends and I arrived at around 10pm and asked when they closed, they were happily greeting us for a table while they replied the restaurants were closing. Actually because of us, they need to turn on the oven again for the pizza. So we didn't blame the pizza wasn't baked well. The 3 dishes (pizza, pasta carbonara & pad Thai) shown here is just at a total bill cost of around THB700. Not bad at all.

Swiss Cafe 瑞士㗎啡室, Wanchai Road HK

This place used to be a small shopping mall on the junction of Burrows Street and Wanchai Road (remember where the old cinema Capital cinema 京都戲院 is? This place is just off a block north of Capital cinema.). This mall was also my weekly visiting place as there are several record shops selling some imported vinyl discs, or I can say Sino Centre Mongkok and this place were the 2 most visited places back to the 80's. Remember those record shop names "The Beat", "Rock Gallery"?
Now here is Swiss Cafe. For those who are native HK people, Swiss chicken is no stranger at all. Again and repeatedly, the old story is from the Tai Ping restaurant for their sweet sauce chicken (sauce in dark soy sauce, soy sauce, sugar and bay leave) that the waiters and their western guests miscommunicated and so mistakenly call it "Swiss chicken".
I didn't order the Swiss chicken. Instead I had a black pepper steak dinner set (my high school favourite) at HK$60. This time they served a smoked salmon salad. At my first glance, I doubted if I should put it in my mouth. Surprisingly the salmon isn't bad though the portion is not big. Actually I prefer they serve some decent food in smaller portion rather than a junk of unwanted food. I was surprised they used some fresh fruits instead of canned mixed fruits. Actually fresh food is now cheaper than canned fruits. They used some green and red apples and some pear. This is what we call an appetizer. The toast is nice too (fresh bread used). So good to go with the aromatic Russian Borsch soup. The steak is also above average. At least the meat isn't that soda marinated. I like the veggie on the side to make it less greasy.

In the tram

This is still the best transportation to me, only if I have my luxury of time. :)

Tsimshatsui in windy fog

Seldom see such a windy foggy evening. See what's on the big LCD display of Canon?
