Used to come here very often with my colleagues for lunch. The Dai Pa Dong (street stall) on photo 6 was our favourite place. Back then, they had a powerful stove for stir fried noodle/rice. Unfortunately, due to the complaint from the residents in the neighbourhood, they got to close that down and now that Dai Pa Dong only served toasted and milk tea. The other one went to open another shop (photo 10 Keung Kee). Though they still serve the fried rice/noodle, it's not the same, simply because those old powerful stove can only work in open area.
Saw the original Epoch again (the last 2nd photo). It was the first cafe having a live DJ and a wide selection of alternate, chill out and lounge music, back to the late 90's. Since then, this area has been growing with a lot more hip and trendy shops.

heard that this area is now very popular among white collars and expats .. a new so-ho maybe!
Mickey, because of some ad. and design companies are around here, it's become another trendy place. The by-products are always with some "fake" high-so coming to town. Easy to recognize. Those like to scan people, speak some unnecessary half English and Cantonese words like "我yesterday 係 Causeway Bay 買左pair suede "skin" leather shoe.". :) Yes, I heard "suede skin leather". I really wanna say "thank Q you to you from me.".
hahahaha
yes here hv lots of fake high-so too
Yes I read that Wan Chai has many modern and famous eateries from the HK Magazine called "Eat and Travel Weekly". In Chinese it is called "Drink Eat Boy Girl". This magazine is so good. I read it every week and feel like I went to eat in HK every week.
So half English and half Chinese like me and Chris then.
They may not be "fake" high-so, but just cannot speak fluent Chinese or fluent English like me.
Please excuse them.
SS, half English and half local language is still ok if the person doesn't speak that in such a pretentious and silly way. Please don't compare yourself and Chris to those interesting people. You never learn how to be. Sorry. :)
Humm, really interesting.
