Passed by this restaurant during my stay at the Sarann on Chaweng Noi. It's just a bit upward after the Sarann. When I noticed it claimed as "cutting edge cuisine", why not try if it's true.
1/2. the shop entrance.
3/4. the restaurant was built on a very steep ruggy rocky cliff with a panoramic view to Chaweng Noi and the east coast of Koh Samui.
5. Someone fishing on the big rock below. 6. Ordered a very special non-alco. drink (forgot the name) but it's awesome - blended with some ginger, lemon, watermelon juice. When I first looked at the color, I didn't think it's that good.
7. Ordered this seafood pizza. It's wood-fire flamed. The seafood is very fresh and at least the Chef used some scallop, fish chunks, shrimp, squid. That's what we call seafood. We finished it all though it's pretty big. 8. Another delight - stir fried flat rice noodle. When I looked at the color, I didn't expect it has the burnt aroma of high heat frying (in Chinese we call it "wok fire").

wow ingredients of the pizza were plentiful, even had scallop!
the stir-fried flat rice noodle was raad-na right, the one top with gravy? burnt aroma, so Samui has some good chefs on duty
Yummy yummy. I miss original Thai Rad-Na. Seafood Pizza at the Sea Side. Now I am jealous already... :D
TC, just like what you said, there are quite a no. of good chefs staying in Thailand and making their own way of living with their skill. So that's why we can find so many nice food in Thailand. Yes, the stir fried flat noodle is Rad Na. At first, I wondered if it tastes good since the gravy is quite much but it turned out the gravy is not that thick and that impressed me.
Android, go and try it if you plan for a trip to Samui... :)
yes, Android it is time to visit Koh Samui, 5-star accommodation can never be such affordable, beach front resorts cost around Baht 2,000, while pool villas may cost as low as Baht 5,000 during the year of financial tsunami (+ h1n1 flu A)
Exactly.... that's how I could get the good deal at the Sarann. On my arrival to the airport, it seems the tourist flow is really really low. If you like something chic, try those resorts in Bophut and there is pier for scheduled ferry to Koh Phang Nga (40 minutes speed ferry and 1.5 hour for normal ferry). Otherwise, Chaweng Beach is nice too and it has lots of restaurants. If you choose Chaweng Beach, get the resort at the upper part or lower end of Chaweng beach. The beach sand and water quality are better.
It's been more than 10years since I last hit the beaches of Samui. No worries about the H1N1. The salty air will probably kill it! Ha Ha... Poolside Villas at 5000 Bahts is a good deal. Much cheaper than Phuket. Unfortunately my project ends next year... My wings are clipped.
No problem Android. Will try to keep you updated and get you some eye candy. Work is more important than travel.
Yes SEA and TC, Thailand has so many hidden treasures yet to be discovered.
Good food, good hotels, good massage, good people, good service, good shopping, good snacks, and last but not the least, super good price.
If Hawaii is regarded as the paradise, Thailand is heaven of the heaven.
Yes, it's more than anyone can expect....
