東海壽飽, Birthday buns by East Ocean Restaurant, Taikooshing, Hong Kong

I guess this is also one of the food making East Ocean very famous. Super sized birthday bun with very nice lotus seed paste and a whole salty duck egg york inside. When you crack the bun, the aromatic golden oil from the salty egg york flows out to tempt your mouth for a big bite.

Yes we have the similar bun here at dim sum places.
It is called "leaking sand bun"(Lau Sa Bao) here.
But ours is not that yellow.

SS, this is the basic birthday bun with lotus seed paste and a salty duck egg york 蛋黃蓮蓉飽. The one you described is 流沙飽.

Yes SEA you are right, I meant the Lau Sa Bao.
I did not have any salty duck egg yolk bao here in LA for long time. Have to look for it tomorrow when I go to a birthday dinner.

TC, the last time it cost HK$20 for one. Mmh.. when I bought my first iPod, it has an engraving service; so I had "in the sea, in the sky, in the sun".

Actually I just opened another sub-blog for my Taiwanese friends to go to BKK for a suggested itin. for food/massage/night bazzar in a 3 day itin. Check out www.mydiaryth.blogspot.com So when I tried to make that sub-blog different I used "in the sun" but it turned out all of my comments were in this main one also showed "in the sun".

TC, I referred your blog but they want a suggested 3 day on easy reach thru' skytrain.... :) I also recommended them to try NUCH. BTW, I tried that nice massage place opposite to Emporium and they are pretty good.
