Winter review: Lawry's Prime Rib, Lee Gardens, Causeway Bay, HK

This place has become busier lately. In general food quality was still kept in its standard, but service quality dropped a bit but didn't matter much to me. The pumpkin shrimp soup is very outstanding (photo no. 3).

Last night I was too sleepy to write further. The photos were processed in Lightroom 3, with auto white balance. Originally they are all very yellow. Then further with noise reduction, as the Leica D-lux 3 didn't do a good job in noise control.

Overall the British cut (no. 5) is somehow better than the Lawry's cut (no. 6). Next time I need to tell them "no gravy". The gravy takes away the original nice slow roasting of this fine prime rib.

The steak and the bread look exactly the same we got at Lawry in LA.
But we don't have this soup in LA.

Lawry's HK offers a more diverse variety of dishes, even seafood, pork chop... That's why it has become more and more popular, as not too many HK people like prime ribs. Yes, Mickey Mouse, supposed the classic Lawry's cut is very nice but that time the UK cut seemed to be better. Very juicy...

Stella, that pumpkin soup is awesome. They use fresh butter and flour to make the fresh cream soup base. I don't like cream soup actually but this one is irresistible.

I like pumpkin a lot. I was having pumpkin soup tonight too cooked with tomato and chicken feet. Pumpkin is good for diabetes persons so I'd better drink it in advance. And it tastes good any way.
