This man and his fellow came here with some diving equipments (with the others having a cart truck to bring to the sea side.). Then they asked the security guard to take the canoe to stand by out in the sea in case of any emergency. That reminded me of those people who went out for surfing at Big Wave Bay (HK) during the hoisted typhoon no. 8, though the weather station warned of no water activities. Why they wanna play at such an adverse weather condition but then ask the rescue team to stand by. There are cases some rescuers dying because of rescuing these inconsiderate and selfish people!
This local guy tried so hard to row the canoe against the big waves but failed many times. I then offered help to push him out but the sea waves were so strong to push back. Kindly note that the sea waves are very frequent. I noticed some deep and shallow bottoms creating some side waves that makes the current so swirling (check the last photo). You will see how the dip can create such swirl. This guy was pulled 360 degree upside down several times. I then strongly asked him not to go into the water. I was glad that he gave up. He even didn't have much energy to drag the canoe back to the station. I was also very tired and we both felt the canoe like a heavy cow. Not sure if those 2 men blamed him later on when they were back.
At last, I really don't know why these 2 men came for diving at this season. When the waves pound the sand from the bottom, it's not clear enough to see anything. Diving to see how the sand got pulled up?
