Not only once being nice, but also another one, from Velassaru Maldives

The resort has been so nice again for a late check out until 7pm (as the flight departure is at 11pm).  It's been the 2nd time as well as the last time I got such a friendly offer that I was so impressed to have this coming-back.  When the resort being nice, we had to be nice and spend a bit more by taking a dinner buffet at Vela restaurant.  Apparently this main restaurant is much better than the beachside grill place.

The waiter of Vela recommended us to try the beachside BBQ buffet for the next day dinner by highlighting lobster and other seafood.  So if lobster is included, US$85++ isn't expensive.  However, it turned out no lobster and what's worse, the prawns weren't fresh enough.  Quite many restaurants often made a mistake by thinking grilled seafood may not be fresh.  A very wrong approach and mistreat the guests.  Though the other food weren't bad, the whole experience wasn't nice at all.  Later on I brought up this to the front office and hoped that they should look into it since it's not a US$35 deal.

2014 Oct review: Vela, the restaurant of Velassaru Maldives

It's quite interesting that every time when I tried some restaurants which were good.  However, it became not that good when I brought friends or family members to visit it.  This resort restaurant is one of the examples.  This time it wasn't as good as the last time, though not that bad.  The western dishes are better than the Asian ones, especially their burgers and salad.

When I was to arrange a party tour for my friends, I had to choose one resort as a safety choice when the other new one may not up to expectation.   Glad that the first choice Nika Island turned out to be not bad.  On this re-visit, the resort was very thoughtful in taking my preferred choice of the room location and what's more, a complimentary late check-out at 7pm (due to late night flight departure).  So we got a whole day stay in a more relaxing way.

The room has been renovated and with a big fruit basket plus a bottle of wine for the returning guest. I'd definitely put this resort as a 2nd resort choice when the seaplane can't meet for the late night departure.
