how much you think for this 7 person set menu?

Ok, another guess! Tonight I went to a set menu for 7 persons (originally for either 6 or 12 persons) but they can add up one more person by charging more. Then look at the menu and the dishes, how much do you think we paid including tips, and 2 jars of cane juice? Sorry I forgot taking the photo of the E-Fu noodles. Quality-wise, I can give 3.8 stars out of 5 stars. Hint: something you wanna get from Las Vegas... Prize: the missing E-Fu noodle from this restaurant. Only 1 guess per day and the final one is considered as the confirmed answer. Deadline: 12 midnight (GMT+8, i.e. HK time) of the coming Saturday 26th July.

ok, so this is 6+1 set menu, and i suppose u had them near ur office with ur colleagues

i think it is very difficult to guess the exact price, u may give us a HK$50 range?

i guess the 6+1 set was HK$788

The menu has 11 dishes, incl. steam fish and fins soup, so cannot be too cheap.

Maybe HK$1,100 for this.

Haha, I know the exact amount now, but I don't tell it now because I want you guys to check it by using the way I tried on the other guessing games. In the Sea, you left a very big hint in the photos. Don't know if you careless make that or you didn't know about it. I guess you don't know it because your hint said "something you wanna get from Las Vegaas". Anyway, it's very related. Sorry Thailand Club and Fillet-o, I can't say it's cheaper or more expensive than the amount you say.

Man,
Can you help me since I cannot rely on Sea or Tea, and I am not familiar with HK standard. If I get it right from your help, you will get the prize(the noodle).
So Sea,
Me and Man will have joint venture, so I can have 4 guesses per day(including Piggy and Richard).
My wild guess today is $160US before tips.(I still have 3 unused quotas for tonight.)

What is the hand writing on the menu?

What is the name and address of this restaurant?

Thanks for Stella's inspiration, big laugh!

Me too, I have JV with other 100 anonymous, so I can guess 100 times per days.

And I will also join hand with In the Sea, so In the Sea please help me with the answer, I don't need the e-fu either, I just want to win so badly.

My first guess is HK$900, and I still have 99 guess for tonight!

Thailand Club, I was supposed to say so, but now someone seemed to be very confident of the exact figure answer.

Man, I have a very thorough check on each photo I posted. I don't know what was the hint. You seem to be a very detailed person and I am getting scared. Do you have an ultra scan to see something even not posted in the photo? The CSI really needs to commission you as a consultant. I really want to know how you can guess it from the photo and you sounded so sure it's related to my hint given.

All I can say now "check on my hint" again before Man says so.

Stella, again, it's not about if you are familiar with the HK Standard price. I already gave the hint. Wow I know why in most US dept. often stipulating some unnecessary rules and questions. Like that time I was asked by the HK US Embassy "Are you a terrorist?", "Is the person in the States you are going to visit engaged in any terrorist activities?" You seem to be apparently under the US Gov't influence. Ok, please keep on watching Jade Channel. Don't watch Bush's Gov't bulletins. Forgive me for my previous wrong advice.

The hand writing on the menu is the table no. Sorry guys, as Man sounded so affirmative, all I can say no one has guessed the right answer. Man, seems like I can give it to you for the role play. Actually I am very curious to know how you know from the menu. Explain in every detail please.. khor khun ma krup! :)

My guess is HK$888, why? Everyone go to Las Vagas for some luck on the table. So the lucky number (esp. for Chinese) shall be 888 for the meal if not 8,888.

My guess, HK$888.

OK. I guess HK $777(for total of 7) before tips and service charge since you are hinting this dinner is cheap.
I keep looking that the photos but cannot see any leaking hints.
Man, can you help giving the hint so we can guess logically?

Yes, Stella, you got it right for 777. that's the lucky numbers for "Tiger" machine in casino. In the Sea, do you know why I told I could guess it from the menu. Check the 3 main words on the right (Big Red meal). I searched on the Yahoo HK web and found out Tak Hing Restaurant has this menu.

http://www.tackhsin.com.hk/c-main.html

When I look at the menu, it's same as this one, but it said $666 for 6 persons. Because in the Sea said "something you wanna get from Las Vegas", I think to divide $666 with 6, it's $111 for each person. I know it must be $777 for 7 persons and it's a lucky no. for "tiger" machine. Anyway, Stella, you are smart. You should get the prize.

This meal is so cheap because it inclues tips. If we have 7 persons to eat in a normal Chinese restaurant, it will be at least $150 for each person, but only for pork, vegetable. But this one has expensive food. Should be $250-300 for one person at least.

wow, Stella at least u made it

so all u hv to do is make a guess, no need to ask for help (as they don't entertain ur help request anyway) and no need to beg for this ask for that, just concentrate on the guess, and finally u did it

congratulation!

Wow. Thank you Man for your very logical assessment and your keen observation on all the details. Are you really a detective?
Thailand Club,
I like to ask for help as it is more fun that way with everybody's participation so everyone shares the guessing process and the winning. I don't like to throw out the answer by myself. I like team work.
Do you know "having no competitor is lonely"? Ha ha ha.
Again, I luck it out based on the hint from Sea and Man. Thank you Man. Please claim(and eat) the prize for me.

Stella said...

I forgot to thank William for the $888 hint.
Thank you William. Please share the noodle with Man. You guys shall claim the prize from Sea. I transfer this prize to the two of you.
I hope Sea will not object as he did not say the prize is not transferrable. Also I do get the inspiration from William and Man. I like to share the winning with those who did answer to my "help help help" quest.

Although I am very sure about our answer is $777, but in the Sea hasn't replied after the deadline. We need the official answer before we ask the prize. Thanks Stella for your offer. I think you should get it.

Yes, officially, what Man said is correct. Stella, you shouldn't "paint the legs on the snake". Check the question on this posting - I already said the bill amount included everything (service charge, drinks...etc.). Then your answer is $777 before tips and service charge. So seriously I can treat your answer is not correct..haha.

Man, I really think you are good at checking on details and I have neglected the important part on the menu's name. Again, use of the internet is a big help, like you did in the other guessing games. Wow, next time I need to be even more cautious.

Stella, you are also good at the games, same as William and Thailand Club whose guesses are also very close.

OK, back to this meal, in terms of price, it's a big bargain. Must try!

Fillet-O said...

To be fair, you cannot count Stella's guess HK$777++ is correct, as it is HK$777 net.

Anonymous said...

Haha, Stella, next time you need to just give the simple answer. They are from the examination department.

Stella said...

Too bad Man. You cannot get the noodle due to my "typo". Ha ha ha.

in the sea said...

By the way, Man, the "tiger" machine is called slot machine. OK, upon Fillet-O's claim, I think Stella's answer is not "officially" correct. Sorry.... Man, that's kind of waste for your guess too. You should have given the correct answer.

Stella said...

The fun part is the process of participation and the guessing rather than the prize
I still regarded Man, Thailand Club, William and myself winners already for our particiaption and good guesses.
Just like life, as long as you try your best that is the most important.

in the sea said...

Yes, agreed, just like those sportsman participating in the swimming, running competition. Participation and the course of the game are more than the prize itself.
