Le Dalat, Vietnamese restaurant, Suk 23, Bangkok
1. reception area of Le Dalat/2. tableware
3. Lemon grass drink. Actually I took this photo on my friend's one. Mine has a very ugly lemon grass. Then my friend tole me this restaurant is a fine dining restaurant and supposed it shouldn't be like that. 4. I couldn't help taking out almost half of the rotten veggie... A bit disappointed.
5. Young lotus stem salad: this one is quite ok/6. Steam rice cake: so so
7. deep fried pigeon: for me it's ok but my friend found it too much pepper inside the pigeon's tummy. 8. Beef Pho: the soup base is nice and I think it's the best dish among all we ordered
9. Beef soup to go with the Beef Pho/10. seasoning tray
11. Lotus lantern with a burning candle/12. the entrance

The pattern of the tableware looks like Nga Trang in Hopewell Centre Wanchai, same blue color tune too. It looks like quite expensive. Is Suk mean Sukumit? Where is 23 near? I may go to Bangkok end of Oct. Seems like too many things to try but too bad I only have 3 day holiday.

This looks like a high class Vietnamese Restaurant.
Seems like you don't enjoy the food there from the words you describe.
yes this is a 'suppose-to-be' fine dining Viet eatery, but ingredients and food didn't support the restaurant dreaming of the fine dining status
some food r good while some r below average, so didn't hit the fine dining mark; oooops except the price it is definitely fine dining
Man, i think u hv to start doing home working to c where to eat for ur 3-day trip; my suggestion lunch at Le Normandie of Oriental Hotel a must, (dress code is smart casual); and don't miss the Garden (although a bit far and difficult to find, but i know u will call in-the-sea for the direction); avoid mall food (except food court) will mark ur trip outstanding
Yes, Man, I agreed with Thailand Club that Le Normandie is a must for you. However, I guess you may take either the Friday depature and return on Sunday, right? or Saturday - Monday? Note that Normandie special lunch is from Monday to Friday. That means you need to consider to take an early morning flight to BKK on Friday for an immediate swift to Normandie after checking in your hotel. Or a lunch before you leave BKK on Monday late afternoon. Then I would suggest you go try Thon Kruen. After that you can go to Mousse and Morringue for the cake. Then I have to see what kind of cuisine you like. Maybe Arirang is a good choice if you want something different from the French, Thai meals.
Man,
Sounds like you have a hectic eating schedule waiting for you in BKK.
Enjoy and share with us later.

Stella
Thanks for the advice. Yes, I will take Friday morning flight. It may be too rush for me to go to Normandie. I will call you later for more advice. I haven't been to Bangkok for quite some time. I want to have more Thai food actually. Your advice for Thon Kruen sounds good because I can go to Mousse and Meringue after.
Yes, it's a hectic schedule for me but I can't take a long holiday.

OK, I would suggest you take an early dinner and late dinner in order to try more food. Good that I know you are not addicted to shopping.
OK, that's what I am planning. 2 dinners in the night time. Thanks.
