Luk Kwok has meant so much to many of our older generations. Every time when someone asked about bringing their parents for a buffet, I would recommend them to try Luk Kwok. Not because of their food, but it's something historically meaningful of his hotel. So this time my sisters and I brought our 85 year old aunt to visit this meaningful birthday lunch for her. She stopped at the old photos of the lobby. One by one, she kept on with something up in her mind. She thought of her younger sisters, her younger brother and her parents. Rowing a sampan to reach the pier of Luk Kwok. So there she went on a sunny lunch. The food is average but she took a lot and there she began with some old time stories with her warm warm smile. So the 3 hour flied so fast with all the bygones, and now all of us sat together with her, just like the old time her younger brother sitting next to her, as we are now the link to her younger brother.
1. Le Menu is the name of their coffee shop. 2. the cold dishes are average but I like the veggie a lot as it's very fresh.
3. the hot food are not in a big variety but it doesn't matter, as the quality is not bad. 4. noodle soup. I would recommend this one as the noodle is quite selected.
5. waffles made on your own. It's something quite thoughtful. Again, buffet doesn't have to be expensive. It's all about the heart in it. 6. My favourite choco. ice cream from Hagen Daz - I took 4 scoops. Then what do you think for this buffet at HK$128 net? The 4 scoops of Hagen Daz is almost HK$100.
6. then some more dessert...

I think no need to get expensive food always. good price buffet is also nice and no need to eat too many. I try this hotel and the food is not bad. $188 for dinner.
What a warm and pleasant gathering buffet.
Sometime even a simple meal can be fulfilling if that meal can deliver love, good memory, good reunion, and a good family tie.
Yes, the gathering is more than the food itself.
