J's Cafe, Holiday Inn Resort Mai Khao, Phuket, Thailand

J's cafe is the main restaurant serving int'l and local food with dinner buffets every other night in addition to the morning breakfast buffet. Definitely I would prefer trying their Thai food. All of them are above average and at a price range of THB180 to 280 from appetizers (deep fried shrimp cake) to main dishes (pineapple fried rice/masaman curry/pad thai...etc.). The deco. is quite contemporary, but something quite annoying (isn't their fault) is that there are too many flies (from the neighbouring small lake and muddy water), almost double as compared to the other resorts in Phuket, though it's unavoidable in countryside. Suggest not to eat outdoor.

The food is not expensive at all considered this is in Phuket.

So Holiday Inn in Phuket and Pattaya are a lot better than those in LA in terms of the design, deco, and restaurant quality. Even the cafe we went for a quick lunch in Pattaya has good food and good price. So unexpected.

I also heard about that Holiday Inn Pattaya. As for me, I prefer some quieter areas like Mai Khao or Natai beach (Aleenta).

I like noisy area such as BKK, Pattaya with lots of people.
I think it is because I am from a low density place and you are from a high density place and that is why.

Or I should say if it's about beach and resort, I prefer some quiet areas. If I go to city area, I would choose those busy areas. I enjoy spending time in Tokyo, Bangkok or Taipei after all.

That means you enjoy both under different circumstances and locations.
