There are some goodies when booking CX holidays for trips to China, such as room upgrade, complimentary tea set and guaranteed checkout. So I'd still book CX holidays for trips to China. This time I tried this historical building hotel (part of Beijing hotel complex and used to be called Grand Hotel) as being managed by Raffles. The tea set is pretty good from sandwiches, scones to the mini cakes. Also the table ware is quite classy.

I remember Raffles is a high class flag in S'pore.

Yes, and very historical. I think in the old days SG had that charisma but sadly after they have the casino business, it isn't the same.
