Nara Thai restaurant, Erawan mall, Bangkok

The first time I tried this shop was in March, 2006. I went with my friend who is quite demanding on food quality. So we ordered 2 beef noodle soup (nam-tuk: the deep brown soup base). The first thing I noted was her satisfactory face. Besides, if you ask for "mai pai" (no spicy), then they can make it mai pai.

1/2 the shop inside

3. the typical four flavour seasoning tray 4. lemon grass drink - kind of refreshing.

5. look at how this veggie was twisted but it wasn't hurt. 6. the crispy morning glory (as posted earlier)

7. Pad Thai - the noodle is ok and the ordinary tamarind sauce, but the shrimp is a bit disappointing. They boiled that prawn and put that on top of the noodle. 8. forgot the name but I was told it's related to Vietnamese food - Vietnamese food in Thai restaurant??? TC, help please.

9. This is the beef noodle soup (nam-tuk) - very nice!

Yes, I like this kind of soup noodle. I tried the "piggy head" noodle as In the Sea told me because it's easy to find. Very nice. Thanks.

Thanks TC. I guess the Nam-tuk soup base might have star anise, cinnamon and some other herb powder. Let me go check it next time because the brand Lobo's has this kind of soup base mix powder.
