Maxim's Cafe, City Hall, Central, HK

1. Baked pork chop rice HK$58. This is the classic HK style of pork chop over rice loved by many locals. Maxim's made this one also very original, taste-wise and see that over easy egg. 2. Chef's salad HK$46.

3. Fillet Mignon HK$90. Very nice mignon and the classic mushroom sauce. 4. the entrance.

5. The interior of City Hall hasn't changed much. 6. City Hall.

Both the baked pork chop rice and the fillet mignon have the same price here at Garden Cafe.

Whenever you mention the name Garden Cafe, it brings back my old days. :)

We just went to Garden Cafe today for the baked pork chop rice because of your post here.(Today is Memorial Day, a public Holiday.)
Yes Garden Cafe in LA, also the "Garden" in HK bring back my good old days. I still remember the days I used to eat half loaf of Garden's "Life Bread" as mid night snack during my high school time. Yes, half loaf of Life Bread at one breath.
I am a bread person, any bread, even just eat it plain no problem for half loaf.(BTW, just had 2 pineapple bun from Kee Wah now.)

Same same. I like Garden bread a lot too and I think it's part of every kid's breakfast memory. Half loaf as a snack? So you eat a whole loaf for a main meal?

I guess I can eat one loaf as the main course if no other dish.
I like only bread and soup for lunch in fact.
I am satisfied eating bread alone as one meal, any bread, toasted or not, plain or with butter....
Also, I like to smell the bread and inhale the aroma first before eating it.

You have the exact preferences same as our Angel. She inhaled the aroma of any bread, rice...

Me too, I like to inhale the aroma of bread, rice, Chung G, and other food before I eat it.
Yes, I do share lots of similar things with the Angel besides the smelling of bread.......
That is why I have very special bonding with her.

Wow. Exactly, I even forgot Chung G. She made it by herself before she moved from her old house where she had a very big open patio. She just sat next to that big pot and smelled it.
