Hotel Review: Hostel on soi 25, Sukhumvit BKK

The previous post of hotels around soi 16 to soi 20 should be on a self-screening probation for 3 months since those hotels/serviced apt. such as Citadines, Column and Park Plaza are not consistent yet. Alternate choices: Rembrant, Windsor Suites, Oakwood Trilliant, Asoke Suites, Ma Du Zi, Sheraton Grande, Westin, Grand Millenium, FX...etc. in that area.
After all, I may have spoken too much in favour for MO BKK, Aleenta, Phuket Pavillions...etc. I need to be more balanced to recommend other hotels and hostels. Chinese saying - when we can take it up, we should be able to take it down. So while we can stay in a five star hotel, we should also try some budget hostel. Be more flexible and receptive to broaden our mind.
The below hostel is pretty nice at a very budget rate from THB600 to 1,000. It's in a very good location on soi 25 (Asoke) within 5 minute walking distance to Asoke sky train and subway. Note that there is a real Italian restaurant (photo 2) run by Italians, as I had a chat with them. The breakfast set was just THB99 with a glass of fruit juice, ham/sausage/egg/toast and a cup of coffee/tea.

aiya u should postpone this post until Sept, now someone may ask to stay here

after u post Renaissance Bangkok, someone keep requesting for that ..

actually, someone insist to stay at MO is because of u too, after ur post (few years ago), she felt interested since then *_*

also because of ur post, she feels great interest in pool villa of which is not her life-style at all, too bad Bangkok doesn't hv any poll villa .. lalala

i think she already treated the MO children pool her pool villa!

and ur negative comment on Siam Kempinski made her given up this (suppose-to-be) 6-star hotel ..

u hv the power!

Mickey, please excuse me for moving your comments to the link of this new post of Hostel soi 25. I think last night I had too much msg food making me a bit too unclear. OK, I need to be balanced:
1. Park Plaza: need to be screened since they still haven't replied me yet on the first night that the door was opened. Very unprofessional!
2. Renaissance: the sound proof of the room is very poor, almost out-win Dream Hotel.
3. MO BKK: Too far. Too time consuming, e.g. breakfast for 3 hours, chilling out in the children's pool area for another 3 hours, lunch in Le Normandie for 3 hours. No time for other activities.
4. Aleenta/Phuket Pavillions....etc.: Too laid-back. Making people too dump. Long time exposure to killing sun light leading to high potential skin cancer.
5. Siam Kempinski: the drawback is on their services in their lounge/cafe. The deco. is very general classic and grand though I don't like it. Swimming pool is good to hide from the harming sunlight which is a fatal cause for skin cancer.

It seems all the hotels above not up to SEA's expectation.

I do like all of the above though.

BTW, how come Park Plaza disappeared??
I did see that earlier at office(but cannot comment).
I know Park Plaza is only 3 blocks from Column.
Column looks like a $125 US room hotel while Park Plaza looks like a $130 US one.
Both are fine with me assuming if both is convenient to sky train.

oh Sea, how can we forget this hostel, a nice one

since it has no lift, they can do exercise through climbing stairs

too much MO, should back to basic ..

okay, fixed, let's stay here .. *_*

We should let go of those hotels. We think it may be good for all of us to try hostel these days. Mickey really knows how I think. Correct - we should get some exercises. There is no lift. Remember our Angel Madam likes this one a lot since she can get some exercises. We also enjoyed so much chatting with the pretty Italian ladies in that Italian restaurant. We can save a lot of money and time from travelling to Italy but still get some Italian atmosphere. ^-^

Hey,
This one is OUT, OUT, OUT.
No stair climbing here. I do enough stair climbing at my house everyday already.
I am not interested in any Italian lady also.
And I am sure my favorite Mr. Trainer won't like this so please don't scare him.

I don't think our Angel likes to climb the stairs too.
She is not the exercise type though.
She may be forced to stay here with no choice under some gang influence; then she was forced to say she liked it.
Poor Angel.

har.. "gang" influence. She did say she enjoyed pretty much at this hostel because she could exercise a bit and yet it's quite close to BTS/MRT.

Poor Angel; she had to say she liked to climb the stairs and she liked this Hostel Hotel.

Thank you very much for the offer.

Thanks and no thanks.

If you can pass my favorite Mr. Trainer then I will consider.
