Serviced apartment review: Column BKK

Got curious to check this serviced apartment. The first mistake they made is to have an unprofessional staff escort me to check the rooms. In brief, that person had a very indifferent attitude. No matter how good the rooms are, the first impression is also important. In stepping into this serviced apartment, an interesting odour came up. To my guess, it's something quite related to the central air-conditioning and the cleaning stuff they use. The odour reminds of some 80's style Taiwanese hotel. So alternately it's quite nostalgic.
Photo 1-2: 1 bed room type. Very spacious and standard furniture with the view to the lake.
3-6: Studio type. Spacious too and with the view back to the soi 16/18. Good that they have a washer and dryer. Photo 4 is out of focus.
7: Swimming pool is on the 25th floor, next to the bar area. The access is through the bar. So you have to walk thru' the bar like you are a model. The funny part is that they place standing table and long chair along the pool with the water splashing in. So if the swimming pool is your concern, this is the consideration.
8/10. The lounging area and it's called the Long Table. To me, it's a bit outdated chic back to the early 90's. However, the view is superb, good for a sunset drink and then dinner to watch the panoramic night scene (photo 9).
11. The serviced apartment units start from 26th or 27th to 40th something. So every room has a very good view for sure. So if you want a big room and a good view, this is a very good choice as the location is convenient at the Asoke intersection for sky train and subway.

the owner is a Chinese immigrant, from HK, so he make this hotel Taiwanese 80's touch?

I mean it's the odour from the cleaning stuff the local staff use, not related to whoever owner he/she is. I recall it's the same odour from Hope Land Serviced Apartment I once visited.

Hope Land is owned by a Taiwanese merchant too, so overseas Chinese owned hotels use special kind of fresher ..?

p/s the Taiwanese 80's touch does refer to the odor..

This services apartment is so spacious with good view and good location close to sky train.
Also free washer and internet is good for me.
Even better than the Center Point in some regards.
This looks like a $125 US room to me if I did not know you guys are smart consumers.
I like the pool as it looks like an infinity pool. Also close to bar so I can buy a drink here when I sit into the pool wishing my feet.

I guess it's because they need to clean the rooms quite seriously with some heavy duty cleaning stuff. The room is very nice and spacious and much worth if it's below US$100.
