Some airlines still go in the classic way of offering more services to their customers. I recall in the very old days, if I can't get the same day connection, the airline would offer a free hotel. Yes, that made up for the negative part of a "stop" flight. I don't mind it because it has to be a night stay in Male City and Airport on those direct flights in. This way we can have the free hotel in Colombo instead of Male City. That means we can arrive at Male airport in the morning time to connect the domestic or seaplane ride, instead of staying for a one night hotel in the hotel near the Male airport.
Yes I think this is a better alternative.
