Got a good deal from MH on their package to Maldives with just HK$1,500 add-on to upgrade to business class from Hong Kong to Male' (3.5 hours from HKG - KL and 4 hours from KL to Male') and the original upgrade price is over HK$7-8k at least. That means this time each sector for the upgrade is just HK$350. Of course, why not pay such a little more for a double comfort. Besides, MH joined One World as of Feb., 2013 and introduced a double mileage with One World partner (i.e. CX).
The service for the flight from HK to KL was impeccable, from drink/snack to dessert and even going to lavatory (the crew attended to help open the door). What's more, the smile from every crew member was very natural, unlike the smile "A" to "C". They are all very spontaneous to keep on refilling drinks and snack all the way, but without bothering. As for the food, very nice satay and that's why they claimed their onboard satay is award winning. Need to mention their super good pink guava juice (freshly made). Further noted is that the audio quality is even much better than CX/BA/SQ. As for the return journey from KL to Male', despite the plane radar failure for a plane change, the services and food were still pretty good. However, that wasn't the case on the return journey from Male' to KL, as the plane was very old without any personal TV and no foot rest.

It is worth to pay a little bit more for a lot more comfort and upgrade.
