When chatting with my friend about some other misleading info. given by Pimalai, here is one more interesting thing. On their web page, they claimed they use 7 feet king size bed but it turned out 2 single bed being put together. Note the bed stand is also for single bed use. That means they are misleading customers. I really don't know why the renowned travel magazine named this resort for an award. Those people should look into the details. It's not a single point. Lots of discrepancies.

can pay to make a lousy restaurant to receive many positive reviews or awards, so do hotels
now u don't surprise why Sirocco at the Dome "wins" so many awards from magazines ..
that mean one bed is 3.5 feet. if a single bed just 3.5 feet is not good enough in this high price resort. one single bed should be 4-5 feet for high price hotel. i think.
This 3.5 x 2 bed looks like those Chinese run independent hotels(no franchise) in Monterey Park, where they charge for $105 US per night.
Oh, also like Best Western Inn.
Hilton on Valley Boulevard in San Gabriel($150 US per night) already better than this. But this hotel is supposed to be higher grade than that Hilton(which is not a resort hotel).
Mmh.. I think we may forget one important thing we are unable to comment - wine! Pimalai has a very big conditioning room for storing many bottles of wine. I think it's the same for Dome and Sirocco. I was also told why people enjoy going to Cannes for conference is because the restaurants there keep some very fine wine.
To Anonymous, 10:34am, if they make 2 x 4 feet beds, it would be too obvious, unless it's supposed to tell the guests the beds are for 2 beds placed together like Oriental, Shangrila, but they would distinguish those are 2 beds. This one is covered with one single mat and as it's stretched very tight, it's not easy to tell it's 2 x 3.5 feet bed.
well storing fine wine (and store them properly) is the standard industrial measurement for any fine restaurant or 5-star hotel food outlet, no need to give them credit, as they should in the first place if the venue tends to be a FINE place
instead, if any of self-proclaimed fine restaurant doesn't store fine wine properly, then we complain
there is one French restaurant in upper Sukhumvit, self-position as fine dining restaurant with heavy PR work, but decorated with cheap material, hire under-par waitpersons, and serve cheap house wine (those one can find it at TOPS for THB 499 a bottle)
What I meant is that those places offer a very wide variety of wine and that's the consideration. So that's why I said I am unable to comment, as I don't tell if they store B499 or B49999 wine? :)

Sure it is a big plus if the hotel has a good cellar for the fine wine.
Even most of the 5-star hotels may carry fine wine, but not every 5-star hotel has good cellar facility for fine wine.
Just like Mandalay Bay in Vegas, their famous wine cellar is their competitive edge over its same level competitors.
Yes, just like on the reverse, someone asked how I can tell whether the dish is an original "hot burnt" cooking, and I tell how to tell the difference of "hot burnt" and "oyster/soy sauce" cooking :)
oh those Yaowaraj Thai-Chinese r very good at "oyster/soy sauce" cooking and sold as "hot burnt" dishes
