Video - outside the Forbidden City, Beijing, China

When most people tend to check the inside of the Forbidden City, let's take a look at the eastern outside.
1. No tourist crowd. Just some locals fishing on the river. 2. Pay RMB1 for a short ride to the main entrance, and feel the breeze along the river.

My goodness, your RMB1 ride is very worth it. This looks like a long ride to me. It may take one hour to walk to the main entrance.

The ride takes about 2 minutes but it's very scenic. So let's treat it as a Star Ferry ride. I think it takes about 20-25 minutes on foot.

25-minute walk is not that long though.
It takes me 15 minutes walking to Old Town for lunch, the closest part of Old Town from my office, 77 N. Raymond where J food is served. The one I ate with Lily Mo Chef.
If I go to the "heart" of Old Town where Leonidas & AX are, then it is a 30-minute walk to the west from office.
This is a good walk, not too long and not too short.

Stella, so your lunch time is walking? Or Eating while walking.

Yes, the trees swaying along that river is not like in the downtown Beijing.
