Sizzler, Central World BKK

In every major mall in Bangkok, there are a no. of regular chain restaurants.  Sizzler is the one and often with a long line.  Simply the reason is the fresh salad bar and various steak choices at good prices.  At this recent visit, I found the beef filet of some very good quality.  The spare ribs is also a good try.
Whenever I am here, I often recall the TV jingle "Sounds like Sizzler, sounds like fun.".

I recall in the 70's and 80's, HK was flooded with a lot of American chain restaurants, almost sweeping the local HK style tea restaurants to zero. Many local HK people including me, had the American Dream for freedom of this and that and the vivid music and movie culture. Denny's, Wendy's, Jack in the Box… were all once here, beside McDonald's, KFC and Burger King….etc. Until the recent 1-2 decades, the newer generation went back to the 70's and talked about cultural preservation. One leading local restaurant played an important role in reviving the local tea restaurant to a new renaissance. That's Tsui Wah.
I once hated boiling soup for long hour and considered it destroyed the nutrients. Later on, I found out what's good about slow cooking and something the modern technology still can't explain… I came to regret for what I didn't take a good lesson from things my grand ma taught. Then I further wondered why I hated those things. If I don't like it, simply ignore it. It's simply oneself's disappointment with his/her identity. Through all these courses of life, I learned something and am happy to be learning. Happy to go for more in 2014 and further….

Yes Tsui WaH is very very good, a lot better than Wendy's and most of other American brands.

Yes we are constantly learning from our past trial and error....
