Standard room, Ritz Carlton Hotel, East 3rd ring road, Beijing

Service-wise, this hotel is quite impressive but a bit too in their way.  They are trained to get more interactive with hotel guests by offering some business or vacation help.  However, when those aren't spontaneous, it would be quite bothering for the room guests.  For example, every staff in the front desk, restaurant and gym/pool would often ask what your purpose is for visiting Beijing.  As I just simply replied "nothing special. just to check out the city and visiting friends...etc.".  Then I was recommended to visit San Li Tun (a pub and bar place with all those trendy people).  As I replied I am  not interested, they all got surprised and asked why.
The room is quite spacious with plenty of bottled water re-stocked each day.  They also made up the room whenever you left the room.  In general, it's still a nice hotel in a good location.

Yes this is a nice and grand hotel but not too cozy or relaxing.
