This resort has recently renovated and has been here over 20 years on the east side of Baa Atoll (about 100 km north west of the capital city Male'). It takes 20 minutes on domestic flight, followed by a 10 minute speed boat. After getting off the plane from Male, it takes 2 hours to get to this place. So it is 12 midnight on the check-in. At check-in, there was a Hong Kong intern to take care of the Chinese tourists. She appeared to be in a local tune to tell "you got in a trap". Then she said the resort is almost 80% occupied by the mainlanders. However, it really didn't bother me much. When the world is like that, we shouldn't change the world but have to accept it the way. Then she kept on speaking the negative things about the resort. I really didn't find it all right even though she is an intern. Supposed you are in the hotel management training, you should make the best out of the worst. Shouldn't "pour a bucket of cold water" to arriving guests.
Anyway, the room deco. and size isn't too bad, considering the room charge is just HK$2,100 net incl. ABF. During peak season, many 4-5 star resort sold at HK$4-5,000. Even that Centara Ras Fushi is charging over HK$5,000. So I didn't expect much, though the service is yet to be improved. What I need is just a budget room and a nice beach to hang out. One penny one product.
